Finally got my N-05 installed with the install kit. I turn it on and get the message "insert a program disk"

Is this something I can download from somewhere and install on my own? Or do I have to go to the dealer to use the MUT tool?

Shouldn't do that. Should be plug and play. That nav might be broken.

Not the answer I was hoping to hear lol. I'm thinking maybe the hard drive was corrupted or something. Trying to research what a MMCS "program disk" is now.

Just being honest. I have a feeling the previous owner tried doing the dvd hack, didn't work and now this.

So I opened the little plastic cover to check out the HDD and....it wasn't there! After feeling like an idiot for a few minutes I did some research and found a member over on the other Evo forum that could help me out. He has 40gb HDDs with the latest software/map update and the DVD hack already installed. I will report back once I get the HDD up and running.

Because it's a N-05 that I found for under $350. I haven't been able to find another N-05 for sale, let alone for that price (although I now know why it was so cheap). Even with all the work I have to put into this one, it will still be cheaper than buying another used N-05 (last one I saw was listed for ~$1K) or a new one for $2K.

hello everyone!

I made all the same as in the first post in this topic

in my Lancer from 2011g I replaced my original Rockord Fosgate audio unit with MMCS also from Lancer from the same year.
after connecting the display we appear the following two messages

"checking screen data" and "screen data upgrade has failed .. restarting"

After connecting to the ECU from a local dealer in the section of audio, car diagnostics says missing a CAN to connect to an audio device
my local dealer is not sure what the problem is and how to solve it ....
does anyone know what to do and how ??

I hope I have not bought a defective MMCS

thanks for any help !!!

I just ended up returning the the navi since it was for 2014 and I searched around for an n-05 but their either not for sale or over $1,000 used so I ended getting a brand new more expensive but no issues very easy install and everything works flawless sometimes you better of getting stuff brand new specially electronics you pay more but every works fine plus you have warranty. I got mine for $1950 of a dealer anyone let me know if your looking for one I can let you know who to contact... Btw I didn't have to go to the dealer for the scan tool just plugged everything in and everything worked perfect

Agreed is always better to purchase electronics new unless you know the seller pretty well.
