HID conversion on GSR non-SSS

Has anyone done this conversion yet? I heard the X has a projector style housing, so regular HID bulbs will be twice as bright, is this true? And if it is, which HID conversion will work for non-sss GSR's?

Non-SSS equipped GSR's use reflector housings, not projectors unfortunately.

Did you just do the bulbs, or a full conversion kit? Pics?

Just some ballasts + 9006 Bulbs... Easy install.

One problem, you have to have the headlights on all the time, due to the DRL's. If you don't have the lights on, they will flicker and then go out.

It did that when I first installed them, just check the connections from the ballasts, that solved it.

How much did this cost you? Where did you get the bulbs and ballasts?

You can just get them on ebay. They're like $110 shipped for bulbs and ballasts. I'm not sure what bulbs the X uses, but the Civic Si's use 9006 for low beams. $110 shipped, it's just a plug n play kit for all cars.

you can use the SSS headlights, u just need to get an HID kit that does NOT have a rebased bulb. You need a D2S bulb with your HID kit
