Hi there, i was wondering what the part number for the skid plate piece where you access the oil changing area..

I changed my oil tonight and that whole piece was broken to bits.. I'm thinking one of the last oil change places just broke it insted of taking the bolts off.. as much of a pain as it is to get rid of the oil.. i think i'll be just doing it my self from now on..

i'm not going to pay 60 bucks for an oil change and have them break bits off my car b/c it's like 8 bolts to undo... grrr

it's #14 in the illustration, called the "extension panel," i believe

https://www.mitsparts.com/oempartsca...e=&catalogid=2

edit: link didn't link you directly. enter vehicle info and go to: radiator support > splash shields > under cover then click on view illustration and it will be #14.

just changed oil last night...

Lisle 63600 Oil Filter Tool (makes it easy to remove the filter)
Race Ramps RR-56 56" (no need for jack stands in front of jack up center member)
Hopkins FloTool 7.5 Quart Triangle Oil Drain Pan (easy to pour, no mess, triangular shape makes it less bulky to move around in tight places)

- make sure your crush washer is facing the right direction
- double check torque specs 29 lbs-ft
- thread on the oil filter until the surfaces contact each other, then turn it 3/4 more

Nice write up here's my question how many of you have noticed the smell of mixed fuel/oil. When I changed mine couldn't help but notice the smell. Is that normal on the x or is something wrong?
