Just picked mine up yesterday(Along with an ams test pipe, intake, and now have a twin tip cat-back on order), and installed it, very very nice piece, it is rather difficult to get the stock one off, new one is pretty easy to get back on. Test pipe was a piece of cake, and the intake was easy to put on as well...
I Also noticed the turbo spooling fast after the downpipe went on

Since I was already running a test pipe and catback exhaust, I didn't notice any difference in the tone of my exhaust. It's already pretty deep. I did notice though that I can hear the whine of the turbo better. Not a night and day differrence, but there was aubible higher pitch that was noticable. It seems to resinate through the downpipe. My top end increased by atleast 10 mph but she was still pulling when I let off. I'm guessing I could've gotten another 5-10 mph. Turbo seems to spool up faster. I'm very happy with the Downpipe. The instructions here helped a ton. AMS was also helpfull for on the spot questions and tech support.

The downside of TBE
Hey, in case folks haven't already pointed it out to the initiates inquiring about TBE and 'how-to', I have had a recurring notable down side. Since my TBE, and I just have a lil KN drop in, I can definitely almost force a P1235 MAF/overboost SES light. Takes the following: slightly less than 100% hot engine; slightly less than 100% WOT; maximum torque/boost (hard to quantify, just pass two cars but be unsure about the second car, or show off to a friend its acceleration but not get caught by a cop after four beers - LOL)
Seems more than myself have seen this code since doing something significant to the exhaust side that mods it significantly. I do hope a tune can fix it; but the tune is close to my track tires and rims prices.... so many choices so limited $$$s
Code resets are as easy as any nearby autoparts place btw. Limp mode goes away after you turn off the key hehe

Well, I wouldn't just get a tune with a TBE and drop-in. I gotta get me a new FMIC, hard pipes and intake. Why get a tune if I have those other intake side enhancements on my roadmap within the next 12-18mths? So far, the car runs very well with a few operating range exceptions. I suppose in the next few weeks when I pull my spark plugs for a 6mth inspection I'll see how its running. So far, its "normal"/rich per the carbon on my tips, so I'm not that eager to go spend on the tune. Not with the way I tend to eat up tires in my DD habits.

I didn't have the AFR and o2 sensor when I bought my DP, so no extra hole for another O2 sensor. I wish I had thought of that.
After the fact, I called a few performance shops around me in STL that do exhausts and found more than one that will weld a o2 bung onto a stainless steel DP/exhaust if I bring it to them. The "downside" (sorry for the pun) will be my preferred placement being on the top of the pipe, it'll really need to be R&R'd to get to that for the welding job.
