AMS EVO X O2 Eliminator 3.0" Downpipe Installation
Still with a hand-tool, borrow and return from Sears a 24" extension.... It'd be worth it for a one day use, and they take returns.
Underside was cake for me compared to those dang shields. Could have done it without the impact, turned a 15 minute job into 1 minute version, not counting how long it takes my bones to crawl under her.
Wiretap, hang in there with your vendor grief -- I've worked with a few and all are absolutely willing to bend over backwards to meet you at least in the middle in all misunderstandings. Nice folks at UR and ETS I've met, can vouch for these guys as honest and willing to work with you.

I DID IT YAAAAAAAAAAAA! ***n never doingit again tho,, had so much trouble getting the stock one off wow!
3hp.. dont think so my friend.. my car sound better then any video I have ever herd in my life FML its amazing!! the best part is hearing it shoot flames
my exhaust tips are chrome but after 1min of driving it it turns black.. and you thought keeping your rims clean from the brembo brakes were a *****!

I for sure got more than 3hp increase. Torque at the low-end is noticable both in RPM readiness (throttle response) and in pulling out of turns at the track. Before the TBE, nice enough, after the TBE, I get comments from other drivers at the track that my car is a beast with torque.
Like GO ON 3 says, its awesome blowing flames out the rear. The sounds are stellar. Performance is nice too, but being able to hear your car at the starting lights at the track, priceless.

This may be the biggest pain in the @** thing to install ever. LOL. The fact that your so close to the firewall and that one nut on the O2 housing sucks to get too. But once you have it on (along with the rest of my AMS TBE) it was well worth it!
Thanks for all the info.
.
Actually made the install for me a little more easier. I was one of the lucky ones and didn't have a problem (no broken or stripped bolts). With the nut facing the driver side, I actually removed the waste gate actuator which gave me a little more room to turn the nut. WD40 did help too.

Ok, couldn't get the lower heatshield bolts off so I pulled them to the side while I loosened the hidden nut and lower bolt.... now the housing won't make its way off the turbo! Its driving me batshat crazy.
Hidden nut was easy from the top. I'm 6'2" but no standing on the engine or remove WG was needed. Just threw a ratcheting box wrench on it and pulled

^ I was tempted to bend the shield but glad I didn't. I figured out that it would block the bolts I needed to remove from the turbo. Bend it back. Then remove lower shields on the passenger side near/over/around the RF drive shaft.
There are two shields, its like a game of Jengo or something, have to take the pieces off in the right order to get lower and lower, then you reverse which isn't too bad except the one shield that's about 2x3x1 that has two bolts. To get the bolts started back in, its totally blind so I had a friend do the bolt (with a paper towel in a socket to hold it) while I watched his placement from under the car. Once we got one started, the other bolt I was able to be started and tightened from feel.

.....unfortunately I had to take the block bracket off anyway! I was using the rexpeed piece, not the AMS piece and the flange was slightly larger than stock, so for unloaded mounting and to even get the bolts in it had to come loose. It was really easy to get off once I stuck my arm over the sway bar in the wheel well on the passenger side to loosen the axle heat shield and take it off. Not sure if the AMS piece has closer fitment on that part, but for future reference it would have saved me a couple of exhausted hours just taking the dang bracket off in the first place! It wasn't very hard to get back on either.
After that I re-mounted the M10 x 1.25 stud, anti-seized the crap out of everything, and it was pretty smooth sailing.
