Just did mine yesterday. Took everything off but the evolution badge. Looks awesome. Thanks for the write up.

Eeehhh, I would just get OEM badging IMO.

3M double sided tape is going to stick the badge out much farther than the OEM adhesive, which is going to look pretty ghetto.

did this tonight with fishing line, a heat gun, goo gone, water and some clean microfiber cloths... All that's left is the Evolution badge.

I didn't have very good lighting in the garage so hopefully it turned out ok... The adhesive was a ***** to get off... even after using the heat gun for a little while between badges it took a few rounds of goo gone to come off. I'm hoping I didn't scratch the clear coat too badly while I was doing this...

The car will be getting detailed pretty soon though, so that should help smooth it out if anything is wrong.

Thanks for the writeup. Pretty straight-forward process.

I've never had a problem. Do you let the goo gone soak for a bit to break down the adhesive first? That's the trick... patience.

Works great i used a Blower Dryer also only on the end of lancer due to for some reason it was way stickier right at the end and the floss broke 10 times i just held it far away 12" and moved it side to side being careful not to leave it in one spot

I bought my x used and the person before me de-badged the entire trunk. When I bought the car I asked her how she did it because the are some marks in the clear coat from scraping them off. She told me that she used a credit card and goo gone. It just a bunch of rub marks in all sorts of directions. Nothing looks very deep in the clear coat though. The diamond is the worse of any of the trees areas on the trunk. What is the best way to clean this up at home without going to a detail shop. I have washed the area many times to see if some is just residue left over, should I get a clay bar? Polish? Wax? I'm new at detail stuff. Cheers.

3M 08008 adhesive. Walmart/Autozone/ORLY's sells it

put emblem face down on masking tape w/sticky side up
apply 3M 08008 to back of emblem. Use less than you think you need. Wait 15 seconds.
pick up tape w/emblem
stick emblem on car, press tape against surface to hold it. Wait a few hours, peel tape off, done
