Down pipe and high flow cat install ?s

I have searched a great deal and had limited luck finding what I am looking for. I have a Cobb turbo back exhaust and got frustrated installing it. I ended up just installing the cat back. I would like more detailed instructions on how to remove the down pipe. I just can't seem to get to the bolts.

The installation instructions on Cobb's website are for an 8 or a 9. I have done several of those and they are much easier.

I was going to remove the cat to gain more access but the bolts are tight and it twists the downpipe as well. Not wanting to cause more problems I did not move forward.

Any help would be great.

Thank you

I have read that. I could not find a way that i felt good putting torqe on the bolts. I tried under hood and from under the car. I have not tried through the wheel well.

I just used various wrenches and sockets, crawled up in the engine bay and got her done... Takes LOTS of patience, PB blaster or what have you, and bloodly knuckles.

Getting the stupid thing off is the hard part Putting the new one on is a cake walk as is taking it back off again.

FYI I did not go thru wheel well either just one or 2 bolts from under the car and the rest from the top.

Tho I'd say mine was still fairly easy as car had less than 1500 miles on it when I did install. Still took me 4-5 hours total to do it.

Warming the motor just a lil bit sometimes helps to loosen things up a bit you could try that.
Not to many other options other than what I've explained and what that other post shows.

Except to take it to a shop and have them do it.

to get the downppe off, take out the wga and the mounting bracket that holds the turbo adapter to the frame of the car. once you do both of these all you really need is a flex head socket wrench and a breaker bar. theres no reason to go through the wheel well and it can al be done on jack stands.

Do you think it would be easier to swap a aftermarket unit for another aftermarket unit? I bought my car with a aftermarket o2 elim downpipe on it and will be replacing it with another aftermarket o2 elim downpipe, will this be easier than replacing a stock downpipe?
