Stripped Tranny drain plug

Hi guys,

Need help badly, I stripped most of the tranny drain plug. I think there is some left but the 24mm doesn't bit. Any suggestions on how to get it off? I was looking at those sears tap and die sets but nothing comes in 24mm. Plus where can I buy a new transmission drain plug?
Also, am I crazy or is the tigthen and lossen the opposite. Left to tighten and right to lossen? I swear when I was taking my fill plug I was pulling my wrech but I totally spaced out and thought about the old rythme about righty tighty, lefty lossey. I guess that's why I stripped my drain plug.

Thanks

I'm not sure I completely understand. So is the transmission drain plug still in the transmission, or is it out and you can't get it back in?

It sounds like you just ripped up the bolt head, right, not the threads? If so, can you get a vise grip on it? Yes, lefty loosely....

If not, then you could drill it with a screw extractor, then as you tighten that screw in, it loosens the bolt...

I would use vice-grips or if you could got to a oil lube place and ask them to crack it loose for ya. They probably have a replacement plug as well.

If it doesn't bite anymore how is it staying there? Do u mean you can't just tighten it anymore? Yes it's righty tighty and lefty loosely
