How to change air intake filter????

Anyone knows how to change Air intake filter in evo X???

Been looking online, can't seem to find it anywhere....

Don't feel like going to the dealer just for that, I want to learn it myself. Shouldn't be that hard, I'm sure...

Thanks....

-Pull the air box clips
-spread the air box
-pull out old filter
-install new filter
-then reverse steps one and two.

Probably the easiest thing you could do besides write your name.

thanks

thanks a lot, I knew it wouldn't be that hard, but there is a bolt on the right side where the plastic hatch is connected to the car. Does it really mater if it stay attached?

Cheers

It'll be easier to remove that bolt but not a necessity. If your new or want to learn about the EVO X and how to remove certain parts download the service manual...

you might be better off removing the air box itself. you see what happens when you remove the 2 top clips and start to pull the OEM air filter is, there are also an attachment on the bottom which can get lose or unattached and you wont notice it.

I thought the same thing. Cause I've tried a bit, and seen the attachments. Thanks for the good advice.

It really depends on how fast the filter gets dirty. If you have a ram-air intake, that won't take very long, especially if you live in an area that has a lot of pollutants.
