The power of an alignment

I bought my EvoX used. Had about 6k miles on it. It was lowered with the works springs. I had wondered if the guy before me had done an alignment on the car. I assumed he did. Then this past weekend I put new tires on the car, and sure enough I get one of the tire guys pointing out to me that the insides of the front tires were chewed to hell. I couldn't really see it while the tires were on the car because it was so far on the insides of the tires.

Well, I got the thing aligned yesterday, and both the front and rear tires were toe in more than half a degree on EVERY wheel. WTF? I'm not sure if the guy before me didn't get it aligned when he dropped it or what, but damn. Anyway, after the alignment, I can definitely feel the difference, and alreayd I'm seeing a 2mpg improvement in city driving. Makes me wonder what highway driving will look like.

I know most people aren't dense enough to not have an alignment done after dropping a car, but wow what a difference it has made. Now I won't have chewed up tires

What were your final alignment specs after you got it done?

I'll be lowering my Evo with Swift springs soon, and I was wondering what alignment specs I should use.

You'd think (more like hope) the dealer would have checked the alignment before offloading the car on you. The tires are still in road going condition?

And where did you get your alignment done? Would you recommend them? I seem to be tramlining more than normal and want to go have it checked out.

I have the paper they gave me, so I'll scan it in and post it up here.

I had new tires put on, and the old ones were down to the cords, so they were definitely not road worthy anymore.

Had the alignment done at Big O Tires. It's just down the street from me at work, and they have absolutely never let me down on any of my vehicles. They even went over my rims with a fine tooth comb and pointed out all flaws in them before pulling the tires off.

Just getting an alignment totally changes the car's driving characteristics. People don't know what they are missing when they are driving on a not-so-good alignment. It can be night and day.
