Lightbulb 4g63 swap in OZ RALLY

Hey does anyone know if it is yet possible to swapp a 4g63 Eclipse or maybe an Evo motor into the OZ rally US edition Lancer. From what I compared the engine bays are the same in the OZ rally and the EVO 7. But if anyone can help a hard mitsubishi fan in this god forsaken Honda world that would be great.

I'll spare you the indignity of being spanked by a moderator. No, you cannot just swap the engines. A search for "4G63" will yield far more info than you'd ever dreamed.

well what do you mean, I have the GS-T Eclipse Motor the only thing I found out that everything is opposite of my 4g64 motor. Like the throttle to exhaust is east to west on my motor, the Evo motor is the same, BUT the Eclipse motor is west to east. so which means the transmission is on the same side the throttle body is on.

I just want to swap the motor just to prove a point that Mitsubishi can do and perform, better than what Hondas can.

USDM lancer = FWD.

Evo - 4g63 = AWD, Eclipse GSX - 4g63B = AWD.

Are you planning on converting to AWD? Might need a nice chunk of money if you do plan to try this swap.

Good luck. We'd all love to see a dyno sheet and some pics when you're done.

the GS-T is FWD turbo West to East
the GS Eclipse is the only motor that matches so far. So pretty much I guess I should just use the GS Eclipse motor and put a turbo on it. just askin Q: guys.

AND HELP.

mitsubishi's can outperform hondas an any category. maybe not us specs but the evo is ultimately better than any honda period. putting in a 4g63 in a lancer with a 4g93 would require way too much(if it's even possible). see, our us lancer is a totally different car than the evo. civics(type r's) are all fwd, so it's easy to swap an engine. lancers, on the other hand are either fwd(us) or awd.. so it'd be damn near impossible unless you're willing to put forth the cash into basically a whole new car

Our Lancers have 4g94's, but the principle is the same. Same family, same block, same head, different bore/stroke.

For the love of God, just READ! Unless you're investing thousands for a custom install you will NOT be putting a 4g63 into your Lancer's engine bay. If you want to show you're better than a Honda then stop thinking like you drive one. Engine swaps are not the answer. Work with what you have been given.

You guys must don't give a crap bout mitsu's because thats a potential project that would be ok to pull off no one said that it was imparative to use a evo motor or a GSX eclipse motor. All i'm sayin is that the ones that match does anyone think it will work if all the mounts line up. Thats all!!!!! Believe me I think I know everything about a Honda imaginable. I part time work at Nu-Image Autosports for Norris P. was worlds fastest all motor Honda but now Erik Aguilar. but still just somebody is on the same ambision i'm on please pass whatever info you've got so far.

You need to learn to stop typing and READ. You're getting nowhere because you want us to GIVE You the info when it's already here and been covered DOZENS of times. READ the engine swap threads. If you want to put in a 4g93T then it's doable, but putting in a completely different family engine will require A LOT OF MONEY and A LOT OF EFFORT. Trust me on this. Because you do not like the answer does not mean that it's wrong.

If you are so determined to do this swap then go ahead, but have more than double your expected budget available because it WILL cost you that much.

All the info is here, all you have to do is read it and absorb it. If you think you're the first person to come up with the idea you're sadder than sadly mistaken. I know I'm being harsh, but you have NO idea how frustrating these threads get. Hope against hope, but it won't get you very far. Only money and custom fabrication will...and good luck with that.

OK I worked with what I have and its not fast enough. the fastest i've got my car was 14.1 at Capital raceway in Maryland just before the season ended. so now just for the winter I would like to research any new and upcoming things to my car. anything no matter what. And the cheap shots just because I don't YET own an Evo are lame. So I understand these questions have been asked before but since you guys are so smart I figured you guys would know that the 4g63 isn't just a turbo motor wether its an EVO or an Eclipse.
