Actually, its 14.7 lbs, which is closer to 15 lbs of boost.

" well dude you can't swap a 4g94 tranny on a GS Eclipse tranny, if you paid attention "

If only I would have paid attention.........
Honestly does anyone have any clue what this guy is doing and/or talking about? It seams the engine/tranny/whatever he has swapped in changes every day. I wish you luck on your hybrid, man, whatever engine or tranny you end up with.

running 1 bar of boost in a stock internal 4A20? (I didn't see he has any plan on custom building the internal) mmm...I don't think that will hold up pretty well....

blah blah blah...4g63t swap for more bang

i agree that a 4g63t would be the **** to drop in...even if you keep it as a FWD only [yes it is possible with an Evo5-8 motor] but doing so will cost you a good hole in your right *** cheek.

plus doing a FWD Evo swap will still give you problems...traction problems...just like swapping an H22A into a hatchback civic the car becomes nearly impossible to daily drive since launching with such a heavy and aggressive motor will make your car jump around like a mexican jumping bean.

but have any of you at all considered any other motors that mitsu has?

The 1.6 4g92 MIVEC motors produce 175+ hp and the work to install it is just like a b16a swap into a civic hatchback you should be running along side with the Civic Si's at stock. JUN aftermarket products are all over the place for this MIVEC motor camshafts and displacement upgrades! and ralliart has the basic bolt on goodies for it as well.

The 4g93 Turbo would be a great motor as well it'll be a basic bolt on and you can keep it FWD too ...just get a little suspension tuning to keep the 200hp down on the ground though.

The US Lancers and the Mirages are really good cars to work with even the stock motors in them as well...dont underestimate the small displacements that the Mirages have[or others car at that]...in puerto rico and the philippines they have 4g15 and 4g93 powered mirages and cyborgs running around running really good times and do some serious tuning to their motors. Now yes i agree you wont be doing better then evo's would be but hell with a tiny motor and pulling of great feats. no one will care you'd actually get more props for squeezing out all the HP out of a small motor then producing an extra 100hp on an evo with bolt ons. you guys catching me on this?

I know of a hand full of civic hatches with SOHC motors and they are running 11's and 1 of them running 10's on NOS and another doing 11's and is street/smog legal [if you dont believe me look up Endyne's custom Supercharged Civic] i haven't been on the site or the forums over there but last i was there the civic was still new...and thats out of a SOHC motor.

aiite im done preechin or whatever just stick with your motors they have tons of potential in them.

Only problem with the MIVEC motors, especially the Gen 2 ones that will fit easily, and the 'G93T is their rarity. Plus, the MIVEC motors, much like the VTEC ones being a 1.6L, is their lack of torque.

Nop, they are two different type of engine....

MIVEC: variable timing...
GDI: Gasoline direct injection...

So far, these two have not been combined together in one engine

There are MIVEC GDI engines I believe. I can't remember on which cars specifically, but I'm 99% certain I've seen them before. Very high peak outputs considering their miniscule displacement. I think Mitsubishi has out-Honda'd Honda.

A turbo Mivec GDI... I'd be afraid to touch it with bolt ons, much less hardcore tune it.

I thought I cleared the differences up early on in this thread.

There are GDI Turbo engines since 2000 in the Mitsu line-up...the MIVEC generally phased-out since the introduction of GDI...since there are already two phases of GDI (the econ-mode and power-mode)...
