oh, and my owners service manual (evo) says to change the oil every 5k miles (not 7500). so i'm halfing that just to be super careful. and to ONLY use synth. oil. and since they're not making any extra money by recomending that, then why whouldn't i believe them?

Yea I change my own oil too its really simple in the EVO (way easier than my integra) everything is simple to get to and quick to replace. I do totally agree with those that use the Full synthetic Mobile 1 oil. Thats what the manual and dealers recomend using and I'm sure there are a lot of overpaid engineers that researched this before making the recomendation. Also if you drive your Evo hard you may want to change the oil a little more frequently than if your a more conservitive driver. I change mine about every 4,000 and have had 0 probs with my evo.

when i bought my evo about 3 weeks ago, i was told they will test it, and if anything but mobil 1 was used they will know. it might be horse$%&* but hey, they pay for all of it for 36,000 miles, every 3,000 miles. that seems like overkill though, i mean full synthetic, on a brand new car, 3,000 miles. that oil hasnt even started to heat up after 3,000 miles.

I like changing the oil on my car. If you push these cars the oil heats up pretty quick, so 3000 miles is probably good thinking.
