Help Needed Quick with inspection (virginia)

Guys I have a Va state inspection without emmissions due in 2 weeks. But I have Kamikaza Headers which we all know trips the CEl or SES what ever you want to call it. How can I pass with out going stock or using a mil. Can I just remove a light bulb and how hard would it be? I have done a search and was unable to find a solution, of course I don't have broad band and grew impatient. You can just respond here or e-mail me at djdoubt03@aol.com.

Thanks

No you can't just remove the light. Often times they hook up to your OBDII connection and can read all and any engine codes your ECU is throwing. Here is the best way to eliminate the CEL - costs less than 5 bucks:

Good luck!

Removing the bulb won't help. The computer still registers the SES.

You could try resetting the ECU right before. Or if you have time, flip the catalytic converter backwards and you'll pass.

Don't reset your ECU right before! The ECU has to go through full diagnostics and driving conditions. If you reset the ECU right before, then when they read your ECU, it will show that it hasn't been able to run certain tests and you will fail the inspection. The link above will fix it. I passed inspection, no problems. Learned all of this after I failed- twice, so take it from me. Do the machanical fix, reset the ECU right after, than drive as much as you can under as many different conditions as you can to make the ECU has relearned and has been able to run all its tests.

If I turn the cat around will I have to add more wire to the o2 sensor or can I just get down there unbolt it and flip it around?

Yes, you'll need to extent the wires. But it's worth it to have no SES.

ya.. thats what I would do is just put the stock one back on.. that way they can't hassle you about anything even if by accident a red flag pops up.. They could be like.. "omg look at your engine you have a header.." lol. Its only every 2 yrs. If it was me, I would just take it off and put the stock manifold back on.. then switch when you are done with testing. Thats right.. work AROUND the system.
