You Guessed it, Another Intake Question!!
Before i get burned by HobieKopek for this post, i wanna point out that i did do the search and read virtually every post in those 6 pages, but couldnt find anything to answer my questions, so here it goes...
Im torn between getting an AEM/Injen CAI from Adventon, or getting the Short Ram from RRM (since im so socal, they're both local for me). Basically, my question is, whats the difference in hp gains, sound, etc. I just want to know the differences so i can figure out if spending the extra $50 is worth it for the CAI, or should i spend that money towards my Evo Wing.

the differences are minimal. if you have an auto, you can't use the cold air intake, it wont fit. if you have a stick, i'd go with the CAI unless it rains a whole lot near you and you are afraid it will suck up water. HP gains are going to be probably the same. the cold air might give a little more power since the cold air is compressed more than warm air. hope i answered ur questions.

eek, helped a little...hehe. seems like they're about the same, but im still up in the air about it. Cuz if the CAI gives me more power, then i would like to go with it...but is it $50 worth of more power?
Im not worried about water, i live in sunny southern california, it rains like 7 out of 365 days a year here. i have the 5 spd, so i have the option of the CAI. If the difference is very minimal though..like a hp or two, i dont see a reason for spending $50. I could use that towards the painting of an Evo Wing...or a MOMO shift knob (next things im buying).

Another thing to consider is what you're gonna do with your hood. If you keep it stock, then I'd go for the CAI cuz it gets colder air - whether it remains cold by the time it gets through your tb is the debate. However, if you're gonna get a vented hood of some sort, I'd go for the short ram.
