The stock intake is the best by far. Stick with stock until you're at 400whp. If you are hard-headed and must have an intake, then get the Buschur Air Filter Kit for $80.

I have the Buschur intake. Had to add it with the addition of cams alky while running 26+psi daily. Otherwise, I wouldn't have one...it's so damn loud and annoying.

probably a drop-in of some sort. I have an Injen with the uicp on my car. But we put a drop-in in the RS and the power does seem alot more consistant. Im getting tuned soon so well see how it turns out

I like my HKS RS. I believe they did a test with and with out it on a tuned car. They lost 11whp when the stock intake was put on. I'll try to find the thread.........Warrtalon feel free to come in on this one.

Yeah, K&N tries to claim they got 14whp from the Typhoon, too, but we knows that's a crock. The HKS definitely can make power...not $300 worth of power, but more than the stocker. The only problem is that this is stationary with the hood open, not with the hood closed while driving with the underhood temps being around 200*, which is sucked in constantly by the aftermarket intakes as opposed to the cold air sucked in by the stock airbox.

I run a custom 3 inch connected to a nasty turbo, I'd recommend it to anyone!

Honestly though, I did the same thing, I didn't search and I bought a typhoon, one of the many less than decent decisions I made.

Depending on your mods a drop in is great, and so is just the cone connected to the stock snorkel.

The HKS RS (yellow element) also doesn't filter anything smaller than insects.

Stock intake!!. It's quiet, efficient, and is just plain stealth looking. I have a K & N drop in filter. That probably doesn't give a whole lot horsepower, but it's reusable. I love the look of the guys at the dragstrip after I've run some 12 second passes and all they see is a stock looking engine compartment .

What good is cold air coming in if it cannot flow freely? The stocker may bring more cooler air in, but it definately cannot bring in the quantity that an HKS intake can bring in.

Sound like a vacuum cleaner anytime you tap the throttle on the freeway?
