washing your car

a silly question that i may add. i just curious if u wash your car like water hose
in it. do u think scoop on the evo ventilation can damage the engine. cause when
i wash it i see clear smoked and hisses noise coming from the tubo manifold? right
after long a drive. means should put cover under the scoop or is it safe?

If you ever took your car to an automatic car wash you will see big clouds of smoke coming through the vent also but don't worry it wont do anything to the car.

Do you really think that would have put the vent there and not know if it would damage anything?

It is just steam from the manifold. Let the beast cool down for a bit prior to washing.

Try zymol

Also....I agree do not wash your car right after you drove it.....it's a really dumb idea and can warp your brakes......let the car sit for at least 30 minutes and since we are in the NEWB forum let me suggest that you wash your car on an overcast day....

Everytime I see people washing their car when its hot and sunny it makes me laugh.....because the car will look dirty anyway due to the water drying so fast

Never wash your car in direct sunlight.

I wash my car only in the afternoon towards sundown.

It prevents water spots in that the water will not dry on your car while you wash it.

Also, regarding the hood scoop; I put a chamois underneath the hood scoop to collect any water.

Just make sure you remove it before driving.

To make your car shiny, it's not the wax but the polish you use prior to the wax.

I recommend this:

Just my 2 cents.

Everything you ever wanted to know about properly detailing your car can be found here

By the way, it's not so much the product you use as it is the process. If you get the actual process down correctly, almost any product will look good on your car.

Right after you get out from a long drive, just put your hand on the manifold heatshield. You'll know if it's time to wash it, then. Also, ignore the hand with the X through it, it means nothing.

i almost always wash the car in direct sunlight because i have no choice. all i do is keep spraying the previous cleaned areas and pull into the garage and dry with a microfiber cloth. no spots! alot of people do look at me funny.
