OK here is how to buy a used evo. take notes
1. Drive vehicle for a good 10 - 15 miles. check engine performance. trans shift quality and feel. does the car track straight, and is the steering wheel straight. Brakes work. Do you hear any abnormal noises (transfer case whine, suspension popping/grinding).

2. check the interior, any sign of holes on the column, firewall, the little pocket under the radio where someone may have had after market mods installed and have removed them

3. check the exterior, look for the labels on the fenders, trunk, doors, and hood. they should all have a sticker with the vin on them if original.

4. look under vehicle. check pinch welds for marks left by frame straighteners. check frame rails for signs of being bottomed out. check floor pan for holes of all things. remove plastic and look for leaks on trans and engine block. look for pry marks on transmission, due to clutch replacemet.

5. look under the hood. any mods, and how professional do they look. don't see any reason to do a compression check, but if you feel like it, knock yourself out. ask if maintenance records are available.

I have also seen your old car, looks like the only thing wrong with it, is that it has a new fender, boo hoo. You even say the clutch lasted another 20K plus after you purchased it. Must not have been beaten that badly. All the spot welds are factory, and none of the metal is twisted in the least. I am a mechanic and one of of Pete's loyal customers. And a question for you. If they did you sooooo wrong, why did you go back to buy your new car there?
Thats great im really happy for you, I had a not so good experience (boo hoo for me I guess?)......Reason why I went back was because they sold me the car the first time, I wasnt going to lie to another dealer and pawn it off on them....I was honest and asked if they would be willing to except the trade eventhough they now know the car has had previous damage, since they sold it to me?. The dealer I originally took it to for service spotted it right away and they wouldnt have given me crap for it on a trade. Thats why I went back, if not for that I wouldnt have. And I never will again.....So im officially done, I really dont want to talk about it anymore.

BTW I have nothing against pete? he didnt do anything to me? I have a problem with others there but other than that im cool.
