temperature effects

I notice a power loss when the temperature falls below 40 degrees. Never noticed it as much on any other of my cars. Does running rich becuase of low temps really effect the evo that much or is it in my head???

low temps = power loss?

Turbos love low temps. Are you sure? Check your lines, boost leak test, and good gas.

Its also winter so you are mostlikely running Oxygenated Gas (power loss and MPG loss) -

Most people note the opposite effect in cold weather. Rich? I don't think so.

Are you letting the car warm up?

My car mostly stock still will sit in warm up mode for quite awhile until it reaches a nice comfy operating temp. The boost is also limited to around 10psi while its in this mode I've noticed. Perhaps this is the power loss you speak of?

+1, and if you have an mbc DO NOT boost past 10psi, eventually you'll blow something up, let the oil temp work its way up

hmmm...normally cold weather = slight power gain.

Are you warming up your car properly before you step on the gas?
Our cars need at least 5-7min driving time to warm to temp.
Flooring the gas without proper warm up is really bad for our car when it's cold outside.

yeah I let the car get nice and warm before I do anything. It seems that the engine revs normally, but the boost isn't really there. I have tbe, mbc @22, drop-in filter, greddy bov, and TT tuned last week to 348 awhp. Doesn't make much sense to me. Happens more in 4th or 5th gear. What is this 10psi limit you speak of that I obviously have been under a rock and missed? lol

w/the BSC intact (which you prob dont have b/c of the mbc) its a safety that you're limited to 10psi when the car isnt at full operating temp
