i started my car and went to drive down the block. then when i stopped at the stop sign my car started making a beeping sound. then it shut off. my car hasnt started since. could it be something wrong with my aem or the alternator?? what could it be??

 

any lights on the dash?imbolizer code maybe?

 

whats an imobilizer code?? i really dont know about cars just pay people to hookem up.

 

does it crank at least? maybe u ran outta gas lol...

 

have it towed to your local tuning shop...make sure they are familar with Evos.. Good luck

 

Let's start from the beginning. An alternator shouldn't kill the car in the middle of a drive. Get an OBDII scan device to see if the car has any CEL's. It works without the car running. Like someone else said, does the car crank? Do the lights and stuff work? Check all of your fuses, wiring, etc. Go from there. The last resort would be taking it to a mechanic. Usually something like that is nothing to get seriously concerned with. It's not a catastrophic failure at least.

 

The beeping sound doesn't make any sense unless there is some kind of anti-theft device installed. Did it sound like the seat belt beep when you drive without the seat belt on?

 

it cant be the gas cause i had just filled it up not too long ago. all the lights work and everything but when i crank it it sounds like dead battery. but i just bought a new mini battery for the car like 1 month ago. and no it aint the seat bealt indicator. but its wierd cause the beeping sound went off and knew the car was going to shut off. then it turned off. could it be my aem ems?? i do have an antitheft device installed in my car but why would it turn my car off?? sometimes i wish my evo was still stock. i tell ya man............

 

I heard some of them mini batteries go dead real quick.

 

maybe your antitheft device is screwing up?
I have Autopage on mine and the autostart option is used as a turbotimer so when i turn on the autostart WHILE the engine is on... i can take my keys out and in 3 minutes it'll shut off automatically. I also have a disable button that'll shut the car off if i want to kill it earlier.
maybe in your case it screwed up and shut your car off out of nowhere.

well i paid 75.00 to have a tow truck transport my car to turbotrix. just for turbo to tell me that it was my alternator fuse. lol. the car is perfectly fine now. but you guys know the addiction is running of hookin my car up is flowing through my veins. while the car was there i had them do a tune on the car to make more power on 93 and meth. the setup now is just on 93 with 21lbs. my output now is 410 and378. ill keep you guys posted on the dyno numbers. thanx again for all your help
