New tricks of an older dog

How old is to old for something like a Vishnu 390hp package? My second owner 03 VIII is at 80k of highway miles. The engine seems to be ok, though the trany has had a sordid past. The original owner blew the transmission up, and the dealer rebuilt it. I guess it never was the same, it makes a good deal of noise. I was thinking about factoring in a new trany as part of my costs, but if the motor is too old then why bother.

start by sending the tranny to buschur for their rebuild....and you'll never have to worry again! then get whatever mod packages you want.....you might even end up with a buschur package, which is the cream of the crop. Buschur FTW!

Another thing that I have to factor in is that I am east coast, and most of the good shops seem to be west coast. There's only so much work I can do, are there any good shops that do Evo work in the Virginia Beach area?

I would have said the opposite. East Coast has all the big boy shops, as far as the EVO.

Uh excuse me? the best shops are not all on the west coast.....

Buschur or AMS could get you setup better than vishnu and for a lot less..... vishnu is overpriced imo and not worth it.

Call up Buschur or AMS first.....they have proved they are 2 of the best and both East Coast.

i would advise against vishnu, yes i am a ex-customer of theirs so i am not just rambling. buschur is definitely a great way to go, as well as AMS. as far as the tranny rebuild i would go with shep, also a cutomer of his. he did an awesome job on my Trans and Tcase. I also have both ams and buschur parts on my car, and will be making another upgrade purchase through Buschur in the near future. SHEP, Buschur, AMS cant go wrong with either one of them
