Grinding 5th gear with 20k miles??
Same issue for me 5th gear.
Planning on taking the car in for warranty repair. Has anyone here taken there car in for warranty with Intake and Catback exhaust only? I have the Injen full intake, upper and lower IC pipes and Catback.
Wondering if I need to go out and buy a stock airbox as I don't have one.
Thanks.

i spoke to alex at dog box racing about this problem since i also have it on my evo. He told me that alot of the ix have this issue with the 5th gear synchro due to poor oiling to the synchro. so if you take it back to the dealer it will eventually happen again.
Oh I'm not an idiot lol I would never tell them I race the car or anything! I really do drive this car very easy. I take care of my cars and that's why this aggravates the **** out of me! So I think I'm gonna get down to a Mitsu dealer ASAP and tell them about my problem. I do still have the stock clutch so the warranty should apply with my car. If they do tell me that they will do the warranty work will I have to put out any money? Might be a dumb question but I've never had this new of a car with a factory warranty.
i went to the mits. dealership and they were being diks about it. they said that if the find out the car waz driven hard or raced etc that nothing would b coverd and everytin would come out of my pocket even for them to check it.i wouldnt get a loaner car unless the problem waz under warranty. i just hit 45xxx miles my 5th grinds 4th jus started grinden, my acd lights are on idk if i shud try chnagin the fluid but im takin it over to dg nd there gona work with my extended waranty company bcuz mitsubishi dealers are diks....
i have had that problem with my car and most dealers will laugh at u and say u rag ur car when u bring it up there most likely its the center diff getting loose and starting to go the way u find this out is drain ur tranny and transfer case and if u see alot of metal shavings look for a new tranny but if no shavings its your syncros but i wouldnt launch on the stock clutch if i was u ether they are very weak

i would drain the fluid and if there isnt alot of metal shavings than ur safe and its only ur sycros if there is alot of metal shavings park it asap because with evos the transfer case goes first and if u keep driving it well the tranny goes next and u will have a biggg shop bill take if from me i know
