Just a little FYI for the guys that own Evos and or any fast car, i used the AMSOIL RD dominator for that last time when we had the Wynn's/ Jestr track event, and i can tell you that you can feel the difference by using the AMSOIL 10-30 RD dominator against any straight synthetic.

one thing i noticed was on high rpm's around 6k the engine has a little vibration, you can feel the engine running harder on the other hand with the RD Dominator, the engine would rev very smooth, i comes to show how efective is the Zinc and the phos that AMSOIL aded to the RD series,,,,,,,, its a hands down oil specially for people like me who runns the bananas out of our evo's

however we have to be honnest, the Dominator RD oil's are a little dirty, the zinc and the phos really dirty up the engine, however i dont think is a bad dirty is bassically the Z and P, nothing a once in a while flush cant clean up,,,,,, the difference in the reving of the engine and how better it feels after you pour that RD is well worth it

Just do it yourself! It only costs like 6 dollars for the filter and like 22 for the oil!

What I don't understand is whyneveryone is trying to replace the Lifeblood and the Kidney that keeps it clean with something because it is less expensive ?

Maybe we should look at cost per mile.

Even though I am going to use the Hydro-Cracked Mobil 1 that everyone keeps using against AMSOIL 100% Synthetic, which should tip the scales in Mobil 1's Favor, and I am just going to use 1 gallon for ease of figuring.

And I am also using severe service change intervals as 99.9% of EVO's are driven that way.

1 Gallon M-1 @23.00 and 1 filter @ $6.00 = 29.00 and is good for 3000 miles... quick math.. .0097 cent per mile.

1 gallon of AMSOIL ATM and WIX filter is $41.00 and good for 5000 miles... .0082 cent per mile.

Even though the initial cost of AMSOIL is more, cost per mile is slightly less. Not to mention the time involved and clean up is cut by 67 %.

we exclusively use AMSOIL in mitsu's and subarus...

we charge retail per quart and half a hour of labor...

as a shop.... any 30 minutes we are using the lift is money we have to charge for because we are occupying a tech and equipment...

if you can do it urself, by all means, do it urself... a little alone time with ur car is never bad

i dont mind not doing oil changes, it saves me disposal

amsoil FTW!

As a shop, that is no more than fair. You can't expect a shop to sell anything at cost or give time away, that is how you keep the doors open... Been there, done that.

Speaking of Sub's... Is it just one engine that has the oddball change interval due to a screen that plugs ? It is something like a 3750 change interval even with AMSOIL..
