Had my eyes set on the X senior year in college, just a little bit before the economy started going downhill and I hadn't yet given up on dreams of making it big :P. Around that time I found EvoM and started reading, but didn't feel I would be able to afford the car anytime soon. I lucked out with a job soon after graduation and once the time came to pull the trigger I did and rolled off the Don Herring Mitsubishi lot in a WW X GSR.

The car is completely stock right now and I'm still having a great time driving it every day. No plans yet to mod other than an exhaust and tune down the road, but we'll see how that ends up going

I've been eyeing an evo since they came out. being at 20, I didn't find it smart to purchase a $30k car so when I turned 21, I purchased an 03 sentra se-r spec-v. while I owned the se-r many things went wrong with it in the 5 years, most of which was my fault (found out later.) I finally paid the thing off this past spring. When the A/C went out close to the end of summer (not my fault lol) I decided to look for another car. I didn't look very hard. Right before I went down this past september to visit my folks in FL I found this blue evo online sitting at an Acura dealership in their town with no price, so I called.

A few trips later, while giving me the run around, I signed the papers to my first evo! with a busted tranny! I got a good deal so I didn't care. But now it's 2 trannys later and I still haven't fully driven her how she should be. she locked up on me while trying to drive back to TN. attempt two, found a used tranny in FL, drove it 600 miles back to TN only for it to fail as well right in my driveway. now she's home, a 1.5 ton paper weight.

tranny is coming out tomorrow. I suspect a bearing (sounds like it.) Man, I can't wait to drive it. my first auto-x is gonna be bloody. I'm gonna have so much pent up tension from not being able to drive it lol.

I had been lookin at the Sti or Evo well before I was able to afford one, I was in the Navy as soon as I graduated high school, so being an E-nothin I was never able to afford it, and just waited till I made E-5. as soon as I did I took a car loan out for $30K and went hunting(this was in 05) first went to the Subaru dealers and they wanted more than I had for a brand new 05 sti, so kept lookin, then found my 2003 Evo VIII with 12K on the clock for $26K and the rest went to mods for the car. still own it now, but lookin to sell or trade for a 2011 MR Touring. we will see.

Im in my senior year of college, one semester from graduation and was lucky enough to receive a job offer with a great company in my field. Most definitely the best in the SouthEast. I was driving my 2006 Maxima, pretty much slipping into society's ideal image of what a 24/25 year old needs to be doing after college. After a couple paychecks, I realized I was actually making money, definitely a big change from being broke and in college haha. I saw my first X driving around town.. The thought crossed my mind...

The more I thought about it, the more I realized that it wasn't too impractical seeing as its still a 4-door car with plenty of space. Started shopping, really wanted an Octane Blue one, but the closest one I found was in NC. I found one about an hour away at a dealership and talked to the salesguy via email back and forth about it and we both decided I would come up for a test drive. After all I would never buy a car without knowing if I liked driving it or not first, and making sure my big *** fits in it. After the test drive I was hooked but still planned to walk away to get an Octane Blue.

They really wanted to sell the car, ended up dropping the price about 6 grand and giving me 2 more for my maxima. Plus when I told them I didn't have the 2 grand cash I wanted to put down on it, the guy comes back and offers me the same payments with zero down and a super low interest. I drove home in my X

Now Im back full swing just as bad if not worse then I was with my integra.

Always wanted an Evo GG 06 MR. Traded 03 Civic for a 06 RSX-S. Had a ball with that, modding, driving etc. Got a Teg (had about 6 of those lol) sold it. Got a 4-dr Teg sold it. Got a 02 s2k with big plans for my RSX-s. I really liked the s2000, but believe it or not liked the DC5 more. Sold S2k. Recently sold DC5 and bought by buddys 08 Evo X with under 10k miles {thumbsup} let the mods begin! Been searching the boards like a fiend trying to get an understanding of Evo's, mods, etc. Love it!

Im lucky I own one.

My old eclipse was starting to be a money pit so I decided to sell it. Had my gf put it on craigslist and I went to check to make sure the add uploaded. Only keyword I knew to search for was evo since it had an evo style cf hood. Found my add made sure it was right, hit the back button and right below my add was the one for my evo. I looked at it it was mostly stock price was really low to me and thought nothing of it. Went to bed and didn't think twice since I had no money no credit nor a cosigner if I wanted a loan. Next day I was bored out of my mind so I said maybe the owner would be willing to let me test drive it. I was 20 at the time so knowing me I wanted a joy ride. He met me that day and first thing he said was no test drives till u got cash in hand of course lol. I fell in love with it right there on the spot. Told him I would talk to the bank and let him know something. Went home and thought there's no way the bank will give me a loan, but it never hurts to try. Went to the bank sat down talked with a loan officer and she said ya know what u seem decent and its hard to get started but u gotta start somewhere so ya we can give you the loan if you can come up with a 4k down payment. I was shocked. No credit, no cosigner, no colatteral nothing. I still had to come up with 4k dollars though. What did I do? Dropped the price of my eclipse to 4k dollars lol 2 days later nothing. Then my friend said if you took them 3500 dollars they prob take it. So I dropped the price to 3500 that day some people came to look at it. They tried talking me down but I said no way in hell. Your buying the paint job and wheels for that price and getting the car free since it was painted less than a month prior. They gave me the cash 2 days after I posted it for sale. Next day the loan officer called and said she had went over insurance cost and what my financial status was and that I couldn't afford the evo and she couldn give me the loan. I said are you serious cause I just sold my only mode of transportation last night and have 3500 as a down payment and need a car and now you say I can't have the loan? I got pretty angry and gave her a mouthful about it. She gave in and said alright but
if yoy screw it up your credit is done for. That night went and picked the car up. It was better driving it home than losing my virginity. I was not out of the woods yet tho, I still had to tag it and pay taxes, and get insurance and I was broke. Luckily it took his bank 2 weeks too send the title over to mine. Then she handed it to me to take to the bank to get it registered. I held onto it for three weeks saving every penny I could for taxes on it. She called and left messages I would ignore or answer and say I hadn't had time that I've been working. When I got money for taxes I finally took the title to the courthouse. It took another three weeks for them to send it off and do whatever which the loan officer was not happy about and kept pestering me about insurance, which I had no money for. She forgot about the insurance and stopped calling once the title came back to them. I got away without insurance for over a year thank god and made the payments by the skin of my teeth. All the pieces to the puzzle fell into place like destiny and that this car was destined to be in my possession. I only owe 11 more payments now and do have insurance on it and will never sell it. When its payed off this year the build will begin. And one thing I hate more than anything in this world is when people say must be nice having mommy and daddys money, I've gotten in peoples faces about that before cuz mommy and daddy haven't helped me with anything or anything I own as of now and I can remember each and every day I worked 13 hours 14 hours 16 hours and so on to make my payments. I know I've met alot of evo owners that were dicks before I got mine, I however am not one of those. I consider myself very lucky to own mine.

Long story short, My old man got a ride in a cement contractors evo about a year ago. I was about to stick a good amount of money into the motor of my 99 eclipse GST just recently, and was told to hold off because he was selling his evo as he upgraded to a new GTR skyline and the evo had sat in a barn since last august, needless to say I got it for a steal of a price, and am loving it

I been looking for the past couple of months and finally found one in march. Went to carmax had the car transferred from California to san Antonio. Took about a week to get here but when it did it was worth the wait. Traded in my wifes old 94 jeep Cherokee and put 2 grand down and drove off the lot the same day when it came in.
