I sold my built 95' GSX for $7000 and then got financed for 18500 and bought an 05 rs with 40k miles. im 19 and just bought mine about 4 months ago. i go to school full time and work two jobs. I think it is worth it. i would recommend having a good amount of money in the bank for backup cause i have already replaced my clutch and got my tcase rebuilt

 

i got an oz rally lancer when i was 15, couldnt even drive it yet. kept it until i was 19. did a 4g64 swap, pieced a turbo kit together for it. all i needed was an intercooler and wideband to put it on, then i heard of an 03 RR with 40k miles, so i ended up trading my OG rally in for her. it was a sad day but i cant see myself in a car other than a lancer so im sure ill be keeping this for a whille.

 

Traded in the ol' 04 RX-8, dropped 16K down and basically sold my soul... Now have a new toy to keep me busy for at least a few years. Couldn't be happier.

Yes it is. Still love driving an 8 once in a while tho...that rotary is something else. Car needs improvement to match an Evo tho.

 

not as big of an improvement as a oz lancer to a REAL lancer. i personally like the rx8

 

Drove a boosted SE-R and got stationed in Iowa. SE-R and My wife's Xterra were paid off and I was going to an interview for a potential SEAL candidate in Cedar Rapids Drove past her at a Chevy Dealership, 03 RR with 40K on her. This was about a year ago. Dropped off the SE-R and didnt look back(im 37). Out the door after everything was done at 11K, got 6K for the Nissan.

i'm more fond of the rx-7s than 8s but thats just me. and def. prefer an evo over both.

 

by the way ... two years later. i was 19 when i made this thread. im 21 now , and i still dont have my ''how you got your evo'' story to tell =(
its hard with school loans and stuff but i anticipate once i graduate ill be finally getting one !

atleast my bf has one, i just live vicariously through his for now =)

 

Loved the 8 for the better part of the time I had it. Had to kick it since it was starting to cost me an arm and a leg. Car was well maintained but everyone who's had one knows they aren't without problems...especially the early 04's.

 

yea the rx8s are nice cars and seem to come with a pre installed chick magnet.

EVolove im sure you will get yours soon. glad i dont have to pay for my loans until i graduate.

 

I got mine at a great deal. Just could not pass. Plus I always wanted one. It worked out.

next year after I buy another house, i'll probably have a "how I got my second EVO" story to tell lol. I've been eyeballing a white or GG SE, but I'm waiting to see what they do with the 2011's. I may just wait and get a base MR next year.

I'd also like to pick up a used 03 EVO to use strictly for rallycross if it actually takes off in this area. I guess if I end up with 3 EVO's i'll have to teach my gf how to drive one haha. she wants to trade her TSX in for an EVO. if the insurance wouldn't kill her, I'd think about it lol
