Wanted an Evo since they came to the U.S. I was in like 8th grade started working when I turned 16 I am now 21 worked up until my bad motorcyle accident right before christmas of 07 got a settlement check and bought my evo now back to full health working again many mods later havent regretted buying it one bit.

 

i hated my brand new civic si, so i decided to splurge

 

I've had an RSX and an s2000.. wanting something new and force induced. (buying it from another member in the next week or so!)

 

initially I was out looking for a Lexus GS 400, drove by the Mitsu stealership took a test drive and it was game over.. next week I picked up my IX!

had a 2000 honda civic si for 8 months and just wasnt feeling it. friend that owns a shop got a hold of a evo with bad rings and told me i can have it for 4500. so i sold the si and now i have a evo. i have never look back

 

keep looking and negotiate aggressively. walk in expecting to pay below invoice and wanting hold back or dealer cash...whatever they have. after everything is said and done tell them u're going to pay cash and try to get financed through a credit union (if you're eligible for membership). if you're financing through a bank tell the f&i guy u want buy rate! he'll look at you like you're crazy but it works...and the worst thing that can happen is they'll say no and try to work something out. good luck!

 

i had my lancer gts 09 did an oil change at the dealer, then i ended up going home with the evo after the dealer offered me a 0% apr on the new evo x.

Ill be 19 in 5 days. As soon as I graduated high school I moved out of state and started working 60 hrs a week. Saved up 6k and financed 14k. Bought a modded 03 with 22,000 on the clock. Drove it for 5,000 miles and the motor let loose. I've owned it for 4 months and have only driven it for 2. Now I drained the rest of my savings and had to borrow money from my parents. I'm hoping I'll get my baby back in the next 2 weeks so I can finally enjoy all 500whp she's gonna have Some words of wisdom...DO NOT BUY A MODDED EVO! If you do, do yourself a favor and have a nice chunk of change put away cuz chances are you're gonna need it. I'm extremely lucky I had my parents to back me up financially otherwise my days of owning my dream car would have been very short lived and my credit would be screwed already!!

 

In june 2005 some kid t-boned my S2000 it got totaled out and i bought my brand new Evo in July 2005 for $36,000 tax included i was looking in to some used ones but didn't want to buy someone's beat up abused EvO......

 

first one bought with 9k miles evo 9 completely stock at a dealer in MA, then traded our 04 viper in for the evo 9 MR with 4k miles completely stock in MA, then sold my galant vr4 race car for the rally red evo 8 from The Shop in CT

 

I drove to Houston and got my 06 IX MR on October 22nd, 2005 brand new the day it rolled off the truck. It was one of the first IX MR's on this side of the country. First and only one in the state at the time.

 

im 19 still in college but i work three jobs on the side and i got my lancer gts in jan 09 i hated it was so slow and since aug 09 ive been trying to get an evo. me and my dad drove over 2k miles all together to find the right one and found a dealership with a 2010 evo that they were trying to get off the lot so we drove up there and got it. my dad finaced in his name to get me a cheaper rate but thats where they stop helping me i pay the monthly payment. i wish theydid though.
