lol i wouldnt be doing nothing drastic..... mostly apperance stuff , and then a bov, intake, hot and cold side piping, exhaust, short shifter, gauges, turbo timer, and boost cntroller and a tune...... just some bolt on stuff. oh and look at auto trader..... most that have 40000 on them are in the 20s..... this dealer is a little over priced but they are willing to negoiate on it and since we are getting all this snow tonight tomorow will be a good day to test it out in the snow lol.....
I'm personally would try to go with the cobalt. I really like both cars, and for a fun dd, the cobalt seems perfect. The launch control and no lift shift features are great, and like you said, the gas mileage is top notch for that amount of power.
If you were going to race more I would probably recommend the evo, but for light modding, and just daily driving... Cobalt SS

the evo is a no go...... he wouldnt go any less then 24350 out the door which means i was paying 22400 for the car. its a joke and way to much money for a car with 37000 on it. also it has 2 dings in the passenger door and a good size scuff in the bumper and the lower bumper piece is seperating from the bumper....i think the price should be lower. does anyone know of any good ones out hear for sale.... i need to try and stay with a dealer.....
I own a cobalt and have it as a dd with a couple bolt ons.. flash, exhaust, injectors etc.. and I love it.. I also have a lancer turbo gsr. awd and everything, trying to mod it up a bit but can't find anything online for it.. but anyway back to topic I'm sure you will love the cobalt, it's alot faster than people might think, the engine is very strong and handles very good as well another under rated aspect again. and there's alot of vendors for the cobalt as well.. www.cobaltss.net
i dont own either, but driven both a lot of times, and this is what i got to say, forget speed and think about quality, everytime you close a cobalt door it sounds like the car is gonna fall apart, they are made cheaply, the parts are bad quality, my friends cobalt ss has interior parts peeling, having engine problems, those cars were originally designed to be economic fuel saving compact sedans, not fast turbo vechicles, the EVO is desined to be a RALLY car, so everything from handling, speed, quality, durability and looks are just better. DONT BUY THE SS

fact of the matter is im not going to pay 24000 for an unloaded evo like 3 quarters of the dealers are selling.... i mean i could just got an 05 evo VIII for 22200 out the door with 23000 miles on it.... only option it didnt have was the sunroof. i put a desposit down on the car on saturday.... sunday someone broke into the car and stole the seats, gauges, sterio, bumpers, spoiler, front mount and all the parts, bov, and 2 rims and tires..... the guy wants to fix it and sell at the same price. if the cars been broken into it depreciates...... fact of the matter is i WANT AN EVO but im not going to pay 25000 for a regular VIII when its only worth 19800 with 37000-40000 miles on it..... taxes and title and plates are only about 1800 extra and then a dealer only has to make 5% for profit. also considering that most of these cars have some sort of damage that will need to be fixed i think a little extra off the price is resonable aswell..... also since most of the onces ive seen have atleast an intake or exhaust the warrenty is void. i need something asap and sicne dealers dont wanna budge on the evos i started looking at the cobalts and because i own gms i get another discount and then 0% financing....... but like i said if someone would budge for the evo i would have one right now......im putting 4000 cash down too. yeah like isaid i want the evo but im not going to screw myself and pay way more then what the cars worth. id even be willing to take over someones payments.
