Evolution VIII or Cobalt SS
Why not take out a personal loan and buy an Evo off the forums? Some people are practically givig them away. Thats what I did and drove 6 hours away to pick up the "right" car. If you buy from a dealer expect to pay a lot more.

I'll say it again, if you're going to mod either car the gas mileage is going to be VERY similar. You can throw the EPA numbers out the window. I come from the VW world and have driven the VR6 GTI (96 model) and the 1.8T GTI (01 model) and I can tell you that I will never go back to a FWD car. You'll never get the same powerslide out of a FWD car that you can in an AWD car. The only headaches with AWD are changing fluid in the TC, Trans, AND Rear Diff as opposed to just the Trans and Front Diff. Then there's the worry about getting the car towed by some jackass and rips your TC to shreds. Don't forget about tires either. I've seen cases where folks were forced to buy two and sometimes four just because one blew out (I'm still not sure if there's any truth to the need to replace all four because of the wear difference as it relates to the TC). It's also about the community. The Cobalts will be everywhere, I take pride in my car having such a cult following. Then again, buying American might give you the peace of mind in knowing that you're helping our economy pull out of a slump? (I know, I'm reaching)

i would take out a personal loan but i alraedy have an 11000 loan out through my bank for work i did on the camaro.... i dont think the bank wants to give me another loan.... and the economy doesnt matter because its driven prices sky high on the evos. and put it this way im not to worried about having the fastest daily driven car out there...regardless of what you do to your car theres always going to be someone faster.....like i said im not trying to build a 9 second evo here. at the most ill probablly make 450 and mayyyybbbbeee 500whp here.... i mean if theres some good deals in the surrounding states of illinois or in illinois post some links...... i would prefer a black, white or graphite car but im not to picky on color as long its not red, sunroof but not worried if it doesnt have one, leather or cloth or the two tone leather and suede, under 45000 miles, little or no mods done has to be an VIII or IX or MR no intrested in the RS.

oh also i wanna state the reason im trying to finance is so i build heavier credit. i have a high credit score its just really light due to never have buying a brand new car or a house or something..... my camaros i payed out right cash(cheap and used for projects) and on my mustang i took over payments and there was barely any left. my uncle just didnt want the car anymore.
And Mitsubishi doesn't do this? People have had their warranty claims denied because of a catback exhaust or a short shifter.

every manufactuer does this because they wanna make some money. fact of the matter is if you going to claim the warrenty keep the stock parts and everytime theres a recall or warrenty work you better switch the entire car back to stock. even then if you flash or ecu back to stock theres still ways to see if its been tuned and what not.... like i said warrenty here isnt the issue.

Are you serious? you are thinking on buying a Cobalt? Did you lose your marbles? F*** GM. How can you compare a car that is always compared to Exotics and a Cobalt that is compared to a trash can. Get a life and don't buy either. You don't deserve to drive an Evo just like 50% of the losers that drive them now.

^^^^^i figured iwould at one point get an ignorant jag off like yourself.... fact of the matter is the new ones keep up with the new evos..... sad but true....so obviously since the cobalt is such a piece of crap that must mean the new evo is a piece of crap since the cobalt ss keeps up with it. and who gives **** if the evos compared to exotics... fact of the matter is its not an exotic and never will be. nice car yes but how are you going to sit there and compare it to a corvette zr1 or z06, lamborghini, ferrari,bugghadi,saleen s7 etc? maybe speed wise and handling wise yes but craftsmanship no. also all the evo is, is an immesly modified version of a lancer, just like the sti is of a impreza, the cobalt ss of a regular cobalt and a srt-4 of a neon. now the evo is the best out of them all of them in my opinion which is why im looking into them. fact of the matter is evos are hard to find because people beat the crap out of them. also you should have respect for other cars..... because there is ALWAYS and i mean ALWAYS going to be something better and faster then what you have...... as long as your happy with your own car though who the hell cares? oh and 50% is a bold statement to make aswell..... im sure you could offend quite a number of people on this board with that... im sure some of the losers on here have evos that will spank that sh*t out of yours. like i said i want people that can give an honest opinion without being a dick about it. you made your point at saying the evo is far superior but your last little comment was unnecisary.

one more thing i would like to add..... you also get a lot of evo owners that think its the greatest thing on earth..... its the same with corvettes, camaros, mustangs, sti's, wrx's, srt-4, and the list goes on and on..... fact of the matter thats why theres an industry and market for fast cars and performance parts. one is always trying to outdo another. if it wasent this way there would be no competition for making cars better. the cobalt has come along way since the supercharged version which isnt the greatest of cars but due to the demand for making the car better and enhance the performance they did. believe me a good drive+a car=a good car.... you could have the best car in the world but if you cant drive for sh*t then the cars worthless....where if your a good driver and you know your car you will be superior to your field of racing. ive seen a teacher at road america take a miata and spank 2 vette owners, an evo and an sti with it because they THINK they can drive because its a vette. also another funny story i seen another take his suburban in the rain with mixed group of sti's evos'vettes and a mustang, and do it all over again because these people think they are gods gift because they own a car that can perform awesome from factory. he bet each guy a 100 bucks that they will all get lapped by the end of 25 laps. they all did because they could keep their cars on the track. does it mean the cars are bad? no.... it just means people THINK they can drive because they have a car that can perform from the factory and you have companies like hahn racecraft, ams, APSand all these performance companies that make a lot of go fast parts for the cars.
