Evolution VIII or Cobalt SS

yeah i mean if i dont find an evo in the next few days im going to just get the cobalt..... a dealers awaiting an mr to come in from auction should be there monday or tuesday. ive already talked to them on price and its set in stone all i have to do is check the car out for flaws and if theres anything renegotiate. 35000 miles on it though and cheaper then the evo VIII i just looked at that the crazy dealer was trying to make a fortune off of. if the mr is legit and everything checks out then im going to buy the mr but if its screwed up or beat on im going to settle with the cobalt.
i say get an EVO...if not that EVO, find an EVO somewhere, but get an EVO over the cobalt. the cobalt is a decent car, but the EVO is faster, and just a better car. as far as those magazine tests with the new cobalt going as fast as an EVO X MR, on the course they were on, the cobalt likely had an advantage because of the long str8's. EVO X's aren't worth a **** in a str8 line. An EVO IX would have done a lot better in that test. not just that, but i don't trust magazine tests anyway because magazine editors don't know how to drive AWD cars. proof? their idiot test a couple years ago in which the EVO IX MR finished behind a 350Z, and the supercharged cobalt SS had higher corner ENTRY AND EXIT speeds than both the EVO and Track edition Z.
they can't drive, period. the EVO's faster, get it.

Financial you will do much better with the EVO
The cobalt will lose value over the evo because it is a new car and you always take a huge hit on new cars. Also the EVO is over priced slightly.
Dont think about what the car is worth now think about what the car is going to be worth when you try to sell it. Also think about which car is going to be higher in demand AKA sought after.

well here put this in perspective....im going to have the car for atleast 5 years..... so when the cobalts done it will probablly have 50000 to 60000 miles on it wheere any evo i find right now has about 30000 -40000 on it and will have 80000-90000 when its all done.....so the value will be just as much as a cobalt. remember im not trying to make a rediculous race car out of this.... i just need a good daily.... im not buying the silver one i listed because the price is outstanding and the front bumpers messed up(they wont discount the price). anyways like i said im waiting for an mr to come in at the dealership and if it checks out the price is right so im going to buy it no questions asked....... but being my time frame.....if it doesnt check out it will be the cobalt since this is just going to be a daily driver. thanks for all the help everyone.
Got my IX SE a month ago for just over 25. It hurt a little, but it came with brand new summer tires and an extra set of rims with all seasons for the winter. It is also immaculate and had under 29,000 miles on it. Got 6% APR fixed for 60 mo and extra 5-year warranty. I dunno, if I hadn't gotten it it was going to be a Mazdaspeed3 for me. I just can't bring myself to even consider a Cobalt SS, even though the new one has promise. Once I pay the EVO off I would like to get it to right around 300 hp to the wheels and track day it some. To me no other car exists that is as versatile for daily use and a beast when you need it to be. It snowed tons the day after I got it and I was flying all over the place in it. No matter what it just goes.. Also, in terms of resale I think an EVO with 80,000 miles on it and well taken care of will still out-value a 50,000 mile Cobalt, purely subjective I know. I'd wait on the Cobalt and go try out a Mazdaspeed3 just for funsies if you don't get the EVO. Another thing to consider is the new Cobalt SS has just come out and all the kinks way not be worked out yet, while the current Mazdaspeed3 is at the end of it's production cycle and the model has been produced for a few years now. Just my .02

24K is too much for an 05, you should be to find a IX for that price. Cars just aren't selling. IMO GM will be having a sale on Cobalts after 27th as well.

IMO the Cobalt SS has a bad rep to go with the car...much like the SRT4 Neons.

look reality of it is....cars arent selling because prices are jacked up so high.... its beyong rediculous..... the evos im looking at dont come with new tiers or anything.... and only one ive looked at was sent to mitsubishi for a full inspection. i have 2 more im going to look at.... the mr which is coming in later today, a blue IX aswell...... if they dont wanna work with me on prices or they treat me like some punk kid without money(im putting about 5000 cash down) then im walking out and ill go to the dealer where i got the camaros that treats me like a valued customer. you guys said it yourself 24400 is to much for an VIII with almost 40000 on it. these next 2 im looking at have 32000 and 35000. so we'll see what happens with the both of them.......if nothing then the cobalt it is.... probablly will just stay a stock daily aswell.
