Looking at buying an EVO 10 with missing seats
I jsut got interested in getting an EVO now that I have to move back south and trading in the Legacy GT so I have the questions as follows. I guess the root of it is how much are you normally able to discount off MSRP when buying these new?
There is a new evo MR at the local dealer which had the seats and shifter stole from it. It looks like I can put in aftermarket suede recaros for about <$2k. They are asking 32200+ tax and offering me 21500 for my 20k mile legacy GT. They are a very high pressure sales place and I feel like I didn't do the best job negotiating.the MSRP on the evo is 41000 and I paid $27000 with tax for the legacy. Oh yeah they are doing 0% financing for 60 months as well and will add the costs of new seats to the loan.
Thoughts
Also thoughts on the fact that noone seems to keep an evo past 2 years are they really that bad to live with?

i dont know where you heard that from lol it takes 2-3 years to fully build the evo the way you want it. Constantly new parts coming out and new options. Granted those that have some chedder may do it quicker but still i never heard of that. Now if you get bored with a car or are just done with it then i can see you selling it. but most cant afford the payment or lost jobs due to economy or just dont want the payment anymore.

You can check the MSRP, private party value and trade in value of your legacy and the Evo at kbb.com and then come back to the dealer with your decision weather you think its a fair deal or not. How many miles on the Evo?

The normal stock seats are $12-$14K for the set to buy new. Yes that's right...$12-$14K. So they are offering $9K off and you have to pay $2K to even make it drivable? No...pass on it. Keep looking man. The car will also lose probably $2K for not having the stockers during resale.
