sorry I didn't have time to read every post prior to mine, but insurance is high on evos, and it will prob be even higher since you are younger. One word of advise is don't make "are girls going to like this car" even part of the equation when shopping for a new car. It doesn't have any difference in the car you are going to be driving every day and if you will actually enjoy your ride.
Other factors to keep in mind is that evos are rather expensive to maintain compared to some other cars. Sorry if I repeated what others have already said...good luck

my .02 cents, junior in high school told me he was getting an evo same reasons, i told him not to get it because hes not experienced to drive, he thought other wise, got the evo few days later crashed it into a wall on the expressway, injured his best friend, girl he was trying to impress went to the hospital for a broken nose. long story short, evos a great car, but unless you can control it and know when you can play around, don't get it. i would hate to see another story like that, get like a 3 series bmw Or a regular lancer until you have the experience to drive such a car.

but chem: if you're the father of a high school senior and are driving an evo, maybe it's YOU that needs to grow up! pick up a ****ing BMW, porsche, Volkswagen, lexus, acura, infiniti - anything! and grow a pair! you shouldn't be driving a car made for men up to the age of 35 or so with a huge *** spoiler on it! jesus, all you have to do when young is to get a good education, work hard in school, get a well paying job and raise a nice family! i understand that you might not be able to afford the luxuries of a nice car such as a porsche 911 like my father can, but sitting on your *** all day on a forum just to criticize others parenting and assuming a lack of driving experience is just sad! my father didnt grow up and inherit his wealth, he earned it! he lived on a farm in indiana! now sure, maybe i'm not living his life, but at least I'm working hard in school and getting good grades! not waiting for obama to start "Robbin for the Hood"so I can finally have some money to spend on an evo! jesus man, seriously, get a ****ing life and a ****ing job and teach your kid something more than that it's ok to be a fat *** slob who sits at the computer all day on internet forums! how the **** do you like that, *******???
Just because the opinions you're getting aren't what you want doesn't mean you can go about and insult people like this. I'm hoping you get banned for this thread.

+1 for the band. Hes a young teenage who has not developed thick skin yet. Once he experiences life as us grown adults have, he might mature and learn what an opinion is. This thread needs to be closed, and he needs to get an infraction.

IMMATURITY IS SO SAD....... YOU DON'T LIKE ANSWERS THEN DON'T ASK QUESTIONS. THE "MATURE ADULTS" ON THIS FORUM (MEN AND WOMEN ALIKE) ARE EXPERIENCED EVO OWNERS, THEREFORE THEY KNOW WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT. ALSO, SINCE WHEN DOES "AGE" HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH WHAT TYPE OF CAR YOU DRIVE? IF THAT'S THE CASE........ SHOULDN'T YOU BE DRIVING A POWER WHEEL? BETTER YET MAYBE YOUR FIRST RIDE SHOULD BE A "SMART" CAR???? SMH.... PLEASE CLOSE THIS RETARDED THREAD, HE SHOULD BE BANNED...............
