u can get that SAME (generic) short ram intake on ebay for like 15-20 bucks. i used to have one, sounds great, works great, but the bracket wouldn't fit for me.

so i got me an AEM CAI.

So besides the bracket, what is cheap about this intake....it has to be better than stock, but i don't really see any difference in intakes, as they are the same thing...new filter, new elbow...however the grade of the filter i guess could make a difference...but all in all...is is there really a big gain i would get from buying a higher priced intake, such as an injen?

Gonna move this to the newbie forums since there's really nothing technical in it, we have a billion intake threads and it's certainly not related to forced induction.
