I have owned both a 99 gsx and now a 06 evo. The Gsx was a great car... I thought.. After having my evo for just about a year now, it has progressively grown on me and has shown me what a real car should be capable. Yes it is more expensive but think about what you are paying for. Examples are technology, age, relaibility, etc, etc, etc.. The list goes on for the pro's for the evo compared to an old, out dated gsx or gst. Spend the extra cash and get yourself an evo 8 or 9.

Dude, definately get the EVO. I own a 97 Talon and If I could go back in time I would have bought the Evo. It's just a better platform over all.

I love my GSX. I found one with many less miles than a lot of cars on here and i think they look better. But i can honestly say i have an EVO eclipse. I have evo seats, brakes, ecu, springs nad retainers, evo steering wheel soon and evo shifter and evo wheels. So i have an evo. lol

i know this is an old topic but i have to comment, everyones saying reliable, more power etc...a dsm is old, what do u think will happen with our cars? anything built wright and taken care of can be just as good as any other car. evo vs. dsm, i may have an evo but u have to love older cars. they have the same motors and when BUILT RIGHT! they do their job without a doubt. dsm's are "always broken" beat to ****" etc cause young punks get them outta high school and hit up ebay. parts pricing can always be argued but for the cost of an older gsx i could have a monster for less than the price of an avg evo (stock to mildly modded) that would beat built evos and anything else on the streets. i love the evo but their is too much hate for older imports in general and dsm's r always in the spot light.

p.s. reliability is always a bonus and nobody likes to just fix their cars but i didnt buy mine to be reliable and "good on gas" and comfortable. i want to go fast and kick as. if i could go back to when i found mine i would think twice before buying it considering what i know now i could have a built dsm or anything really and my wallet wouldnt look anorexic

Now that im done with school ive been looking at a few 04-06 Evo 8s and a few 95-99 Eclipse GSXs. I want somthing that is alot of fun to drive, has POWER! and has all wheel drive. So i need some help from you guys to help make the right decision. Ive never took a Evo for a test drive or a Eclipse GSX but i would think the GSX is alot like the GST, all but the all wheel drive dif and the weight of the car. I love the way both cars look but the Evo is between $10,000 to $12,000 more then the GSXs ive been looking at. Now i know that the Eclipses are alot older, not as high tech and about 80hp less, but are the Evos really worth the extra money you pay. I dont mind paying the extra money.....but would i be getting my moneys worth? Iam open for all comments and opinions. Thanks for yalls time.
The evos are abit better with the new technology but the eclipse shouldnt be slept on. It really deoends on what you go for, i think the eclipse is better for street and drag. And yeah parts get kinda expensive but the eclipse is waaaaay cheaper than the evo. Id buy the eclipse the build it up if i were you tbh

I’m sure he figured it out already, over the last decade.
