Like Joe Rogan says. Don't feel bad for stupid people, if stupid people didn't do stupid things to weed themselves out. Humanity wouldn't be where it is today.

This is all both hilarious and pathetic. I can't believe I'm even posting on this thread. It's ironically like an accident scene that you can't stop yourself from looking at. I suspect the OP is either a 13 year old and/or an attention starved rich kid with issues. He got a bunch of bored evonm. members to take part in his lark.

It's great to have a goal and good luck with your saving. My advice for the present time would be to keep your own financial matters off the internet. Hint: Rich people don't talk about how much money they have.

Now go start your homework!

Hey. People, quit your hating. Im 17 and I own my Evo IX. Its not unheard of to own these cars this young. Sure some people flaunt they're money but no reason to throw a tantrum. Yes most rich people don't hang theyre money out the window but just cause someone does makes no difference.
Buddy of mine just got a 2011 5.0 and his best friend an Evo X MR this last month. Theyre both 16. If his parents buy him a brand new car, then congradulations! I pray he is responsible, safe, and very very thankful!!!

Me and my broski been driving fast cars since we were 15 and havn't had ONE accident or ticket between us. Take it to the track and any kid will let it loose when the time is right. If you teach a kid to be responsible with an extremely fast car, then you've taught them more in life than you may realize.

True that! But still... people work SOOO hard to get an maintain there evo and i guess its just upsetting that mommy and daddy just give them it like a candy bar to a little toddler! But then again im sure the parents worked VERY hard just so they can do that for there child...

i cant believe i just wasted half of my life reading through EVERY page of this thread.

This thread is like one of those ugly chicks at Wal-Mart that you can't stop looking at even though it's horrifying!

This thread made me giggle a lot.... but make me want to claw my eyes out even more..... thanks kid...

Yay, my first post. One step closer to be able to buy stuff from other members of this forum. 29 more posts to go!!!! Now on topic; what a waste of my 5 minutes reading this. If I was a young kid, and I had $19k, I would go with the older Evo and use the rest for school and supplies.

Seriously though, the sole purpose of the OP's thread was asking what Evo was right for him. We were then led on a journey of financial declarations and explanations with a dose of self righteousness tossed in for added fun. It all proved for naught when the young lad let the cat out the bag that he had......gasp.. family money! How dare you-take-money-from-your-parents. OMG!

Anyway the original question of what is the right Evo or any other first teenage car should be considered with safety in mind. Not just yours but unsuspecting motorists and your passengers lives. Prove you can be a safe driver for 6 months or more, the truck you get is a perfect vehicle for this. No offense but most teenagers can't drive for **** in traffic. They just haven't had much seat time. Prove you aren't one of them.

So the current Lancer platform has received great safety ratings. It's a good choice for a new driver. However the reason people hate to see kids in Evos, Sti's, etc.. is they can get to very high speeds in a deceptively fast manner. They make an inexperienced driver seem invincible. Then when the laws of physics get ignored, bad **** happens. Fast.

Yah, I'm 21 now and paying $375 a month for my IX and I'm with USAA down in Florida. I have 0 tickets and my record is perfectly clean. And USAA was actually the cheapest out of everyone else I compared to.
