Any pointer on what to check for once the car arrives at the dealer. ( on its way from Florida)
It has no accidents on the carfax no flood damage nothing wrong there.
If any one can give me any advice on what to look for and what things i should do as soon as i purchase it. Mods to get for it going to be my Daily Driven car 20mi 5 days a week.

Ps it has an exhaust and ecu Dont know which kind though.

I think you only have to worry if theres a check engine light or if theres 2 or more readiness tests pending (tests the ECU runs on cars systems) A shop with a good scanner could check this. Other then that Jersey has no safety inspections anymore!!

As for checking the car when you get it... You want a good tuner to check that it has a good ecu tune and its say running learn or some other unsafe condition. Also have someone (that knows what there doing) check that it hasn't had major bodywork. Just because carfax doesn't list any means crap. I would also change the engine oil, coolant, transfercase, gearbox and rear diff... if you dont have proof its been done.

Hell, I'll take a look at it if you want to stop over at my friends shop in neptune.

Good luck with the car.

As stated before, have them check to see if they can get the readiness to pass or even if it gives out readiness. Standalone ECU's might not.

Compression and leak down on the engine. Boost leak test. Log AFR while driving if you can.

Check out Ivey Tuning in Linden, NJ. They are very knowledgeable with evo's. That's where I plan on going with mine.

Your best bet would be to find a local tuner that's experienced with Evos and have them look the car over. Every type of car has those little things that are known to go bad, and a shop that knows Hondas and Acuras like the back of their hand would probably miss a shop that knows Evos top to bottom.

As far as emissions, just find a car that hasn't been heavily modded and you shouldn't have any issues.
