Help evo x running rich

Bought a used evo x and it is running hella rich when I get on it. Found out that it has 950 CC bosch injectors and a Walboro Fuel pump 255. Any suggestions car is not bogging down, but I have a lot of black smoke coming out the back when I get on it. My friend was following me in his new evo X and he told me he couldnt even see the back of my car due to all the smoke. Any suggestions on what I should do? Tune for the injector? or just try to get some OEM ones for now?

Did you ever get the car fixed?

Got the clutch replaced and the car drives great. Just running rich, friend of mine says I blow out a lot of black smoke when I get on it. Dont know what my a/f ratio is but SES light comes on occassionally. Wished I knew it had an upgraded fuel system before I bought it.

you might also have a boost leak... I am sure he didn't do such a great job putting the car back together.

You are probably right. You know a place that can do a boost leak check and a tuner to try to help me out with a tune. Should have just bought a new evo x.

where in VA are you? based on location i can help or steer you towards someone who can help.

agree with above. its prob a combo of the upgraded fuel system, injector scaling, not being tuned, and poss boost leak over compensating with fuel.

Today took the heat shield off and found out and found a loose bolt on the downpipe and a missing bolt on the bottomside of the downpipe. Also have a no name BOV on the car. Thinking I should just order a stock OEM one to try to track down my issue with the car running rich.

Agree on the stock BOV. We've had lots of issues with aftermarket BOV's on X's.
