I have also completely stripped a Subaru and have no got that far with the evo... yet...
Please explain how the aftermarket support for subarus is far greater than that of the Evos?

I purchased my 05 Evo from Queens, New York and drove it 23 hours back to Minneapolis, MN. The seat comfort was never a problem. I actually had so much fun driving it home, I was a little dissapointed the next day when I had to go to work

keep in mind the difference between those two cars is a lot more than just the engine. The extra weight on the sti is from performance oriented additions like braces and chassis stiffening. Wider wheelbase, bigger brakes, 6spd transmission, lsd's. To get the same performance out of a 2.5rs swap you're going to end up spending more than you would for just an sti.

Did you decide? It should come down which best suits your style and needs. Test drive em both. Both will be exciting, so if you are just looking for some fun go with the best deal you can find.
