500hp longevity

I'm thinking a little ahead of myself here, but I was wondering what the reliability of a 500hp Evo would be. Bit of a broad question, but a buddy asked me if a 500hp evo would be able to drive cross country, and I told him probably not. But it got me thinking, with just regular driving would a 500hp evo be reliable?

I know some of you guys here DD your car with 500hp, does it ever get boring? I may jump ship and just go with a 335i, this is after wanting an evo for over 6ish years.

Finally close to getting an Evo!, only for the right price though, so if I can't get it for what I want to pay I'll just wait.

Any thoughtful input would be greatly appreciated!

i would say that you could drive a 500hp for long periods of time but you will have to stop by the gas station more often. Also, you could have multiple tunes.
For example,

Tune #1: Daily driver - 300hp tune
Tune #2: Weekend fun - 400hp tune
Tune #3: Race - 500hp tune

The 335i shouldn't even be considered. I drove my moms today and while it's a decent car that thing is scary In slight corners, SLIGHT, and this is with brand new tires. My evo, with dry rotted bald tires handles better and feels far more planted and secure even in rain.

I'd say as long as you do your maintenance and take care of it its fine I've been at 450/350(pump 92) and 506/404(e85) for over a 1 1/2 years and 30+k miles and car is just fine and I daily drive mine over 88 miles a day 5 days a week plus it sees the track often with lots of 1/4mile passes again still perfect. Just need to take care of it

You will have no problems with a 500hp evo. Any and every car can be a reliable DD with 500+hp if it is built CORRECTLY without cutting corners and you drive it sensibly aka not beating it everywhere.

Ahh, yup, 500 is daily. Boring, all depends....
Gas or E85 does get expensive depending on your mileage you drive...

And yes, would I drive my car across the country, sure...

I think 5-600whp is our sweet spot. Remember we're only 4 bangers.
