Which radar system works the best on our evos?
You're gonna have to explain
If it'll only cost me $30 to not worry, I'll pay another $30...
and WestSide's right- the POP manufacture states clearly on it's website that the technology is NOT accurate enough to issue citations and is not admissable in a court of law....

Regardless of the radar issue...
FWIW, I've met some 'good' judges, and some who love to carry on in kangaroo courts. What's economically interesting is judges here in good ol' Utah have 'financial' levels they have to pursue in order to keep certain court 'goodies' around. So, there is a definate incentive to charge the motoring public as much as the "market can bear."
Regardless, in the few court cases that I've won some, and lost some, the real trick in the 'lost' part is setting up myself for an appeal. This book seems to address this issue, and probably would be a good resource is making sure you can effectively 'fight' these issues on appeal. Friends, appeals to me are still scary, because if you lose 'again' you can possibly end up paying some real court costs. So, more knowledge in this area is always a good thing.

P.S. What's also interesting is most lawyers I know don't know how to mount a good traffic defense. They sometimes ask 'me' for advice when 'they' get a ticket.

POP itself will not hold up. If the cop then switches bands, and if the gun continues to give a reading that indicates excessive speed, well that's a different story.
it's sort of a moot point, though because there aren't many jurisdictions using it... are there?

alright look- it comes down to a question of case law in your jurisdiction. the maufacturer even recommends using a standard tracking radar after obtaining a 'violation' using POP

We need to stop effing around with these cars that can be easily caught by cop cars and start driving crotch rockets that can go in excess of 150MPH
unles you're in an aerial surevelance area.
Actually, I've considered trying to get legislation passed that takes away any police authority to write a ticket for excessive speed- and make their job accident investigation and REAL law enforecment. . . . these BS tickets for going 12 over and whatnot just blow.... yes I know it'll never work so don't waste your time flaming.... a guy can dream can't he?

Props to ya bro for trying I totally agree and wish that your efforts would pay off... however I think your right when you say it will never work.. but hey maybe if enough people try.... 1000 people in front of capital buildings could swing a few votes??? Keep on fighting the good fight.
The first assumption I make about a JP court is that they 'all' pretty much are kangaroo courts. Mr. Joe Cop needs 'something' to do, and putting him in a car and 'watching' traffic with a kewl piece of equipment is something probably 'better' than harrassing checkout girls at the local store, trying to find out which 'boyfriend' has drug possession. Actually I think the latter is a more worthy endeavor. Come to think of it...how many commercials say, "Don't do drugs" ... and how many commercials say, "Please use your signals?" The last one out there I remember was, "Don't drive next to a semi."
Regardless, for the 'times' I've been 'under' the speed limit and been 'run' off of the road, swerve to keep from hitting somebody who blows a red light, crosses a double yellow, or really 'needs' to 'make' that left hand turn from three lanes over, I've really wanted a cop nearby. Take away the patrol cars, put them at a few intersections, and have them watch all of the 'illegal' chiz that goes on, then I'll feel happy. In the mean time I'm going 10-15mph over and not even going to bat an eye! FWIW, my motorbike speedometer went out the other month. Since then, I've been run off the road less, seen chiz on the road earlier, ridden for longer, and taken corners better...why? because I'm not putting my head in my cockpit so %#@! often to 'check' my speed! I flow with traffic, instead of trying to make traffic flow with me, both under AND over the speed limit.
Now I'm truely grateful for a big tacho in the 'center' of the EVO's dash, instead of a honkin' speedo there, my priorities have returned.

I have the Passport 8500 X50 with the red display. It is normally like $300 bucks, but I got mine for $200 because my boy works at best buy. Look at www.radartest.com. I mean, as far as super high end detectors go, it's kind've like the difference between Evos and STis. Much more preference than performance differences. The best advice is just to get a really expensive ones. Check the reviews, find out which one fits your area the best.

THIS WOULD BE A GOOD POLL
Passport 8500 X50 or the Valentine V1.
It's 50/50 when it comes to "who's best" between those two. 1/2 The reviews say Passport, the other 1/2 say the Valentine.
I have the Passport 8500 X50.. paid about $300 for it. I have not gotten a single ticket since installing it.
