so who are these guys on the forums who with TC SST who claimed to have an ECU TEK tune?

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=353561

This sucks cause i will definitely need to have this car tuned for our crappy gas. If i just wanted a conservative tune to back of some of the timing? would this be possible?

The west coast has them already. We are still waiting to get ours in the Midwest.

If you would like to take a chance on it, I would be happy to put something that I think will work in your ECU for you. There isn't much risk involved, but I like to be upfront on our current knowledge and abilities so that we both know what we are getting ourselves into.

Well i have not received the car physically as yet which may probably take another 8 weeks so hopefully there would have been some more advancements by then. In the end, i need to have the ECU flashed because of our crappy gas and i intend to use the AMS intake and CBE with test pipe. I am honestly not looking to squeeze all the performance out of the car but look to tune the car for our gas. This is my DD so once i can enjoy it safely ( without it being the fastest car in the world) I am cool. I will let you know when i am ready. We can always refer to this thread. You can keep me in the loop as to any developments as well.

Chris,

I am confused, on page 2 of this post I asked you if you had any dyno graphs of an X MR with your reflash and you said the following:

"The dyno graph listed above is from an MR. There will be no difference between the cars in terms of horsepower output with the 5 speed"

But now you are saying you haven't had an X MR on the dyno yet, is the graph in the beging not from your dyno or something?

Ok well i decided to go with the 5fwd gear box. Looks like it may be less complication tuning and i won't have to be paranoid.. i will have it in about 6 weeks...

Chris, I ordered a JDM RHD Evo X. It is 5fwd model. I intend to leave the intake stock or place the AMS performance intake system in. I also intend to install the Greddy single pipe TiC system. Looking forward to hear from you if the mail in flash would be possible for the Japanese spec Evo X with the bolt ons i mentioned for Octane gas 90. Would you recommend the AMS intake or stock. This is my DD.

I can do Japanese spec ECU's. I did my first one last week and it went very well.

The AMS intake is definitely more bling than the stock pipe. At this time I think either one will produce about the same results for you.

A response to this question would be much appreciated as I am interested in a reflash for my MR.

Thank you!

Hi chris thanks for the response. I should have it here in about 4 weeks. What octane level did you tune for the JDM.

I think they make an MR five speed. If I am mistaken I apologize.

I should have a car with an SST transmission in it here next week.

A 5 speed X MR? Come on man! I am sure there is plenty more I could say here, but I am just going to bite my tounge.

^ You're sounding like you're biting your tongue because you want to say that they don't make a 5spd MR. But you'd be wrong. The correct phrasing (and source of confusion possibly) is "They do not make a USDM 5spd MR". And Chris you're not mistaken, if you had to tune a JDM GSR ECU that came from a car that happend to have all of the JDM packages that make it equivelant to a USDM MR, then yes it very well could have been the 5spd. Hope that makes sense.
