Nope, the source of the confusion is Chris saying on page 2 of this post that the Dyno graph posted showing the HP/TQ gains is from an X MR. The dyno graph is clearly from their dyno, so the car was tuned and dynoed in their shop. If the car was tuned an dynoed in their shop, then there should be no confusion as to whether it was an X MR or an X GSR on Chris's part, assuming he was there and/or given correct information if he was not.Originally Posted by Jblade

The correct phrasing (and source of confusion possibly) is "They do not make a USDM 5spd MR". And Chris you're not mistaken, if you had to tune a JDM GSR ECU that came from a car that happend to have all of the JDM packages that make it equivelant to a USDM MR, then yes it very well could have been the 5spd. Hope that makes sense.
Next time read the whole post please before making condesending comments!

I read the entire post. Whether Chris was there or not, the point is that they're tuning the ECU. The ECU could be from a car that originated outside of the U.S. That car could be a GSR that has the correct combination of packages on it to make it "equivelant" to the USDM MR. Since they can choose their trans (across the pond), they can have a 5speed "MR like" GSR. That's all I meant by my post.
It's interesting how touchy people can be on a forum sometimes. I didn't mean to come off sounding condensending, but I'm a member on more than just this forum and I've seen people argue about how there can't be a "5speed MR". I apologize.

I completely understand your point, they can tune any ECU. But in order to get a dyno graph that ECU has to be in a car and on a dyno. An ECU AMS tuned was in a car and on their shop dyno and produced the dyno at the begining of this post. Chris said on page 2 of this post that dyno graph was from an X MR, and then later on said they hadn't had an X MR in their shop or on their dyno with their tune yet. This is the whole reason I am confused/concerned and asking questions. Does that make sense now?Originally Posted by Jblade

If they actually had a JDM EVO X MR 5spd in their shop and on the dyno and produced the graph in the beging of this thread than that is awesome! Probably not the case, but Chris needs to clear that up.
I really like AMS products and have been very intrested in their tune from day one because I know they had their hands on that white X MR before just about anyone. I am just looking for a straight answer, that is all.
I am not pissed, just frustrated that a very simple question has been so difficult to get answered. I am not in any way arguing the fact that their might be an X MR 5spd somewhere in the world. All I care about is did AMS tune a US-spec X MR and/or can they and what power numbers can I expect.

I have only had 5 speed cars on the dyno thus far. That should clear up any confusion...
