AMS Mail in Reflashes for the X Now available!!!

AMS is proud to officially announce our EVO X Mail in flash program.

Together with ECUtek AMS can now flash your EVO X to improve Horsepower and torque while still keeping the car safe and completely daily driveable.

Using ECUtek we are able to optimize your Fuel and Timing curves to extract as much safe usable HP and torque as possible. We are also able to raise the fuel cut on the factory ECU for those pushing the limits on the factory hardware. In addition to this we will also modify your MIVEC on both your intake an exhaust cams for quicker spool up and maximum power, without sacrificing drivability.

All of the tune files will be with the latest Mitsubishi re-flash that is currently available when you send your ECU in. We do have the most current files about 1-3 days after they are released from Mitsubishi.

We are able to control your boost while utilizing either your stock solenoids, or with any other boost controller of your choice. There will be no check engine lights set because of the installation of an aftermarket boost controller!

As with ALL AMS tunes Safety and reliability are job one. We will not do anything to the car to sacrifice Reliability or Drive-ability. We will however guarantee a very large smile on your face when it’s all said and done.

This service is $500 plus shipping. We are able to expedite these ECU’s as fast as possible to keep downtime on your car to a minimum.

Some requirements for our Mail in flash are as follows:

The car must have a stock turbocharger
The car must have a stock or AMS intake pipe

Please Specify your Desired:
Rev Limit:
2 Step RPM:

Please call in today to make arrangements for your mail in AMS EVO X flash.

Sounds like a great option, and am very interested. Just a few questions first....

1 - what are the gains expected for a stock car with just your reflash?

2 - Does this price include the cost of the EcuTeck license, so in case I get a custom tune at a local shop later down the road, I won't have to pay for the license again?

I know the boost has to taper, but with your mail-in does it hold more boost up top then the stock 13lbs? Ive seen lots of custom tunes that only taper down to 17-19lbs or will this decrease reliability? Can we get a dyno graph of what this tune looks like on a stock car?

so for someone local, the cost would be just the $500?

Why do you need the AMS intake on?

You don't...they say stock or AMS intake. They don't have maps for other peoples intakes.

I'm sure they could "custom" tune for other companies intakes. They just don't wanna risk sending out tune, and having the car run like crap.

What would be a "safe" increase in the rev limiter?

Here is a good example of a stock car with just a tune on it that I did last week. Only change here is the FLASH, nothing else was changed...

2 - Yes, the one time license fee is included.

The mail in will hold more boost to redline than the stock tune will. The factory solenoids will be programmed to hold as much boost as possible.

See above for you dyno chart

Depending on the way that you drive, your MPG can improve just a little or quite a bit. You will be using considerably less fuel to get the job done from about half throttle on. The price for local customers is just as you stated it, $500 with no other extra fees.

As I see cars with other intakes coming in, I will feel comfortable sending out tunes for those cars. For example, I just got done tuning a car with an ETS intake, so I now know how the car will react. If you have another intake on your car please contact us so that I can let you know if I have the data available for your car.

The rev limiter can definitely be raised about 200-300 rpm with no issues. We have not done any other concrete testing on the internals of the car to make any further judgments on this subject. Personally I feel that the rod bolts may be our limiting factor.

How long does it usually take to get the ECU flashed? I'll definitely be getting this done, I just wanna see if I can squeeze it into a lunch break.

Are you offering this tune for the X MR as well, or just the GSR?

Chris, but to be sure, this was still a tune for that particular car as opposed to a generic flash, right? Cars vary so do altitude, octane etc so not everyone is going to see a 50whp increase.
