What Z06?! Not my comparison dude.

Someone doubted that this is a $40,000 car. So I was simply clarifying.

I think the car is just worth it. But I would require a warranty that actually holds water.
If I go in with a broken cup holder "no problem sir."
If the eng / tranny fries I risk hearing "customer abuse!" according to some members on here.

I love this car - just frustrated after reading the " Voiding Warranties thread"

Exactly, why the shock? You knew that the 04 GSR with leather is 33,500. Did you expect Mitsu to come out with a limited edition, top-trim for the same price?

my apologies, i confused you with someone else who said the Evo was a 40000 car and the Z06 was only a 45000. too many posts and not enough caffeine.

No offense taken.
I feel a very strong bond with fellow enthusiasts, drivers and autocrossers, and I was totally ready to take possession of my new MR. Had my deposit down for 6 months now! At THAT time best price estimates were around $33G. and that was about as high as I wanted to go.
OK - $2g extra not a huge deal, but its pushing the limits big time when I see out the door at $38G. and Evo8MR just took delivery of white 05 Sti for $33G OUT THE DOOR.

And it really kills me when I hear warranty hell stories from Mike and others on this thread. I was going to keep this car stock to avoid this, but when I read further: "driver abuse" seems to follow alot of major warranty claims with no real evidence. Some dealers won't even diagnose the cars - what the hell is that.

press releases on warranty policy is political propaganda because the dealers are not following it. I was amazed when one of our employees online admitted seeing the "driver abuse" verdict handed out. Another guy said he had a cold air intake void his warranty. etc, etc. I've herd alot of good stories too, but they can't mend the bad reports.

I am in mourning because I think has just lost themselves another customer and not because I can't pay for it. I don't want the potential hassel of taking them to court if they don't stand behind their product for 10 years 100,000 miles like they promise.

Ditto to what Turbo-Ron said. Mitsubishi MAY lose a customer if I can find a slightly used MR. 33 OTD is huge compared to 38 OTD. And like Turbo-Ron said, I make more that enough to afford this car. I'm 33, not some pimple-faced kid.

I am selling my soul and paying $38,910 out the door - MSRP + 9.3%. But I dare to void my warranty for nothing. I am a law student and would look forward to a law suit for practice and revenge. BRING IT ON!

The MR or any other Evo is simply not worth more than 30,000. In my opinion these prices fort he MR are difficult to justify under any sceme or rationalization.

yeah, but indications are that they will sell all of them at or above MSRP.

I'm currently debating myself if the MR is worth it for me. I have 03 EVO with Vishnu stage 1+ and ohlins suspension.

The only reason I would consider the MR is because of the ACD, lighter components (roof, door beams, wheels), front diff, 6speed tranny and exclusive grey color.

Thing is, how long will it take before I get bored with the power and do the exact same thing I did to my 03. It would also be interesting to actually test drive an MR to see if the new components working together as a package would make the car truly shine.

I still think $35k is worth it for the car, if you are a new buyer and not willing to tinker with
the car.

Percy, I am open to suggestions. What do you suggest I buy then? I can't think of any thing that is even close to bang for the buck the Evo offers, except the STI. But I don't wanna STI so that leaves ______________________________. (Long blank for you to fill...)

I got the down payment in three months ago and got the car for msrp.

But I can't see myself paying $34900 plus tax for the mr. That's too much considering no xtra horsepower or MR seats . I would eventualy put coilovers and wheels. Pluss I don"t need the xtra crap for $800.

I'm disapointed cause all that witing for nothing. The sti is starting to sound better and better. They should have the rs with an ac option , that would sell alot more than the
MR MINUS THE POWER MINUS AYC MINUS INTERIOR EDITION.

I couldn't either, but then you think about not having an MR.
