It is NOT 34,199.
It looks like I get to have some humble pie. I called my Mitsubishi contact about the confusing pricing and was told that you DO need to add the packages to the pricing. I was told differently yesterday as was my Mitsubishi contact who I got the information from. The mistake has since been corrected on the Mitsubishi site. Sorry for the confusion. The haters can now resume the price bashing...

WOW!!!!! I got my brand new in Feb. '04 evo8 for less then 28k with sunroon and cf spoiler out the door. It feels like gold right now. Whatever thoughts I had about MR are gone 4ever. I can get a nice G35 coupe with all the performance upgrades for something like that and not thing twice about paying 42K or even 45K, considering it is a G35 coupe.

p.s. why the hell did mitsu even break out the price of MR "option package" if it's standard?
Because the $800 worth of accessories were port installed options. You have to break it down on the vehicle sticker.

If there are options that are not installed from the factory (the production line) manufacturers must show them on the vehicles window sticker as an option.

Hope this answers your question.

That was what was explained to me today by Mitsubishi also.

No offense, but what bank lets you finance $38K with 0 down?

Ah... time to don the Nomex suit!

I hope the MR buyers like getting raped for that extra gear and aluminum roof. No way in hell I'd pay 8 grand more than a base GSR and only have a sixth gear and some lightweight parts to show for it.

it's not just an extra gear, it's a re-geared 6 speed, the ratios are different so you can stay in the powerband better. it's an expensive roof? i dunno about that one.. you also get new suspension.. so in summary, the MR is faster in a straight line, faster in corners, and has a more comfortable ride. not that bad. this has all been talked about over and over again. MSRP on a GSR is 30,5 and the MR is 34,9... it's only a 5k difference
