4G63 with MIVEC??

I hear the new Evo 9 will have the 4G63 but then
at the same time, Panizi on his video mentions the 9
has MIVEC.

So what gives? Is there a revised 4G63 with MIVEC?

Joe

I believe the new engine will be designated the 4G93. The 4G63 will be retired.

There is already a 4G93

It is 1.8l (actually 1834cc) not 2.0l

Not turbocharged but available in SOHC form as well as GDI form. Used in some Lancers...

Damn progress!!!

Now that I've convinced myself the MR is not enough of an improvement to trade in my 03... A MIVEC engine should be a considerably flatter torque curve on the IX. I would still miss my sunroof though...

RS and GT trims of the Evo 9 will have aluminium roofs and thus no option for sunroof.

Apparently the GSR trims will have the option of lighter aluminium or regular one with sunroof.

The MIVEC may not be that much of an advantage - and most likely it will be some time till cams are available for it
