I say manual. If you can't handle it you can't handle the car.

The overwhelming response will be to stay stick...I mean all the owners right now have no chioce and I'm sure they are fine with a nice manual gearbox...plus, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Never owned an automatic and never will. The SMG and the tiptronic are still just crappy auto's with torque converters and thats why they are slower than thier manual conterparts. The only "automatic" transmission I would want is the Ferrari b/c that is a manual trannie with automatic servo application of clutch and gear change. And it costs $10K.

smg= sequential MANUAL gearbox. i.e. no torque converter. check w/ BMW and Audi. 2 clutches, and compact size, w/ computer controlled servo activated shifting.

I didn't drive a manual until I got my evo. I learned on my friend's civic, BEcAUSE I wanted an Evo, and realized I was a sped because I didn't know how to drive a stick. You must have at least one friend who has a manual, so learn how to drive one, and then get an Evo. But do be careful on the clutch!

By the way, if they do offer auto evos, I will be the first to go on a hunger strike... whos with me?!!
