Automatic EVO

I'm just wondering what people think about having an automatic gearbox for the upcoming IX.

The UK already had the GTA on the Evo 7 so its already been done. All this means is that you might see more old ladies in Evos.

There is no inherent difference in driveability between the programmable auto gearbox and manual gearbox.

Anything you can do with a clutch, you can program into the control unit, including clutch dump, shockloading, skip-shifting, and especially rev-matching.

The rev-matching algorithm can be programmed to be so perfectly smooth that no driver can match it.

The reason we don't see this type of programmable auto gearboxes in street car is because of liability reasons. People are too stupid to know the difference.

I voted F1 gearbox. That's how most WRC cars switch gears and it seems to work for them. SMG in M3 & F1 shift in Ferrari = teh shizzy
