Automatic EVO
I don't see why you people wouldnt say "as an option", what do you care if someone else wants to be a ***** and drive a auto EVO. The reason I think people should want the auto to be possible is, Mitsu will probably sell a lot more, they need new fresh ideas to even stay in the US. If they just stay exactly how they are without new fresh ideas, none of you will have any warrenty.

^^true...hmmmm i just noticed i brought this back from the dead...my bad...i forgot i was searching something and stumbled onto this post thinking it was new...oops
...i dont want to read the rest of the posts but INVECS-II transmission in the Evo has a similar trans to what the newer M3's have...it was the INVECS-II trans that the M3's "highly rated" manu-shift trans was based off of it was a co-operative project that BMW and Mitsubishi did a few years back.

Personally, I feel a performance car should be a manual. These vehicles are made for a certain population who can handle these machines. I personally like my Evo being a manual, because it would not make this performance oriented machine look like a "cheerleader's car" who can't even drive stick. Autos are kewl and convenient, but that's not what evo's are for. You can't simulate the feeling of heel-and-toeing when you take a turn and induce a little slide (just did this today on the mountain, hehe....). An evo has a name behind it for being a performance car for those who know about it, not for a person looking for an average vehicle. Doesn't it feel good to know that all the evo's made here are only stick?

Anyway an auto evo would respected by me at the 1/4 only, consitancy praying that the torque converter held up. I think it should since the galant vr4 (97 to present ) has the same power output. IMO a drag evo would be as deadly (if not better) then a MkIV supra.....Im surprised that the guys from turbotrix or pruven havent jumped on the auto trans just for this purpose. Seeing the turbotrix car run at englishtown this past weekend is always impressive....
If I ever saw a evo on the street with a auto trans
Like I said before if any evo owner wants to venture to that conversion contact me directly I have a auto trans that came with my galant vr4 front clip in the garage......

Why? Because this is what would happen:
1.) Auto tranny introduced
2.) Automatics suddenly account for 85% of all model sales
3.)
stops importing manual tranny EvosI've seen it happen before. IMNSHO, if you want an automatic, go buy a Benz or an Audi or a GM or one of the new Eclipses
