Maybe you're just crazy? Who knows though. I think the EVO X concept is ok looking, I don't think it looks as aggressive as the current VIII or IX though, it is a huge change from the past EVO's and thats why I think its not as popular. Plus the 4G63 is the BEST 4 cylinder ever produced in the world.

For EVO X fans.

1. Turbo is in the back means better weight distribution.
2. Turbo in the back also means the exhaust doesn't wrap under the oil pan. Keeps engine cooler.
3. Intake manifold is in the front and can be bombarded by cool air.
4. Aluminum motors cool faster.
5. Aluminum motors are lighter.
6. The Chasis is stiffer than the IX (By 30% I think).
7. Most sophisticated AWD system yet.
8. I likey

at first i hated the look of the X but the more i see it and read about the changes i,m starting to get a little interested in it. When i picked up my BR350IX from Medina MItsubishi i was joking with my salesman about coming back in a year or two for a X. He told me to come on down and will take good care of me. Hey you never know! The other day i saw a photo shopped X in grey and blue and a couple other configurations of it and that grey one really caught my eye. But it better be one helluva better car than my BR350 for me to get rid of this silky smooth beast.

4G63 + EvoX drivetrain =

I'm sure someone's already thinking about it.

Well I'll have to look at more of the facts on the engine/performance of the Evo X. I read somewhere that the engine was almost the same between the Evo IX and X. As for appearance, here is what I do and don't like about it.

Likes:
-I bit more aerodynamic looking.
-The inductions on the hook look tight. This is probably the best feature of the car as far as looks.
-Gas cap has that racer look (I know, I'm reaching here)

Dislikes:
-Trying to look like a glorified Eclipse. I liked the fact that the Evo looked nothing like the eclipse, but with the Evo X on the horizon, I guess that's out the window.
-Front end, yes it looks like a dodge like many of you have said. It's basic looking and the head lights look like we took a step back in time by about 10 years. Same with the tail lights. Terrible
-The roundness of the spoiler, again that whole eclipse look.
-I saw a few pics of the interior....Are you freaking kidding me?!?!?!!? I mean don't get me wrong, the dash on my Evo 9 is nothing to write home about but this is going from one extream to the other. Unless my google searches led me to some concept looks, two words....this blows.

I just bought me Evo 9 two weeks ago. The dealer was like "Well you know that the Evo X is coming out next October". I thought about waiting for it but after looking at these picures I believe I made the right choice.

Lol you guys crack me up. I can almost guarantee anyone here that if you had the evo X sittin in your driveway you would **** yourself. As much as you dislike the looks of it, it will grow on you more and more without you realizing it, just watch and see. You never know what the future brings

looks aside, the X will be a vast improvement overall, and its supposed to be lighter than the IX despite the added features.

Evo's up till now arn't made wit a style in any way resembling another car. Not even the lancer lol. Y all of a sudden a body style to resemble cars of a certain class?? The Evo is in a class of its own and cars make there builds with little features to try and have something up on the evo. Not the other way around. Mitsu I hope keeps that and dsn't keep the concept x lookin charger, acura, lexus. It's a street car. Leave the luxury to the suv's. Or juss make ur own luxury and put some type of evo package in the car..

+1

We are all talking about looks here, but who honestly buys an EVO solely on looks. If the power and drivetrain are very nice than I would consider purchasing one in the future. Most people who have negative things to say about the EVO X are EVO owners, a lot of Non- EVO owners like the look, and I mean a lot. Maybe that is just my experiences.

X or IX doesn't matter, there's pros and cons. But after so many years, I think 17 years....i just want to own a piece of automotive legend, before the 4G63 died. Last weekend ran with two 1991 VR-4 Galant in the track. When they open up the hood, I know is weird, I feel so proud they running on the similar engine.

I know someone will say stupid, why paid $30k plus on a MR with century old engine, and have a freaking insurance $50 a month!!!!!!!higher than my 04 E46 M3. But everytime I drive the MR and look back at the clips on youtube on all the previous generation Evo, feel so amazed how it evolved from one generation to one generation.

And do you guys remember the first time you walk in to the dealership when Evo finally got into US market???That feeling alone, ...just sooooo..everlasting.

To all Evo owners....be proud n drive safe.......and go whoop those STI's ***.....

i wish they would make the IX for another year so i could save and afford one with a lesser payment ....but anyway...the X doesnt look bad, its just different. but all the new sports cars coming out are getting like that. i actually like the front end(sometimes) i think the lights look pretty sweet. maybe it will be cool....

Guys just wait a little, be patience the prototype version of the Evolution X will make its debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January. I don't care how it looks as longest it outperforms the IX, and be mod friendly .
