I wasn't to crazy about the IX front end when i had my VIII, but once i saw it in person i ended up getting a IX. Lets wait till we see the production ready Evo X before we strat making judgements. IMO the concept X looks awesome, like nothing on the road right now. I hope the X will keep a lot of it's design aspects.
I've already cleared a spot in the Garage for one....

I was under the impression that the next generation STi will be a 3 door hatch. That's what all the automotive publications are saying at least.

2. True, but it also means that the turbo isn't being cooled by outside air. Also means that its cramped around a tone of equipment... though theres inherantly nothing wrong with that. In the end, it prevents things like this from happening.
3. It doesn't matter as much where the intake manifold is on a turbo car, especially if you use a spacer
4. This one I'll give you (though obviously were picking advantages for racing here)
5. True, but they are much weaker as well. They won't hold up to higher boost, knock, and all of the other terrible things that you are accustomed to feeding your engine.
6-8. schwing!
They have the new SAWD system in some evo Xs for testing. People said it was an improvement even without the extra rigidity of the chassis.
That all said I like the look, but it is a totally different one for sure. I think the current evo is more towards function and the X is more towards form, but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. Lets just hope they don't increase the price *too* much

Alot of ppl here *****ed about the two holes on the Evo 9 bumper when it first came out but then now everyone want to convert their 8 to a 9.
Pictures can only say so much therefore I would love to see a X in person. As long as its 95% of the JDM Evo then I wouldn't worry about losing too much performance.

the performance of the x will be better but that's it....as far as looks the x looks like a dodge or a mustang wanna be or something...i don't like it...i'm not too big on the paddle shifter thing that seems to be going on in newer cars right now....i guess it's ok but kindof dumb...i mean you'll probably be driving around with the tranny in auto most of the time and rarely ever use the shifters....unless you are racing or something.....at least that's the way i've seen these trannys set up in other cars....automatic or paddle shifting in the same car...maybe the x is only shifters....i don't know...but this could do away with some clutch problems since the clutch is automatic
I dont think the evo X looks horrible but i also think that it should not be an evo. the body is to long and looks more like a luxury car wanting to be sporty. i think it would be perfect if they made that the Galant VR4 or GSX. i dont know if this is true or not but i heard that the chassis for the evo X is the endevor.
From what i've seen, the evo X looks like ****. But I have faith that when it is refined to the finished product and actually comes out and I SEE it in person, then it'll most likely be atleast better than what I think now.
The X is going to be sick... people wont call it a "tuner Carolla" anymore I bet lol. I still get teased a lot for having an "upgraded Lancer"... the bastards!! I don't care though, I know what it can and can't do.
I like the way it looks but it has a lot of luxury features that weigh it down like cruise control and a few other things. Which dont get me wrong those things are great to have but the Evo is not a luxury car its a racer. But i believe that mitsu will do a great job on the thing i mean come on its mitsu.
